You need to apply lube between the walking belt and the black deck surface. Most manufacturers use silicone lube. We sell a lube kit for our treadmills that includes an applicator and a bottle of liquid silicone.for around $20.
Horizon treadmills need a silicon lubricant, placed between the underside of the walking belt and the deck board that it slides across. This should be done about once a year ;o)
You need to be careful if you are trying to clean the belt soa s not to damage it. Use something like methylated sprit - or some other clean that does not have oil products in it. A good qulaity computer foam cleanser also works very well.
