Install program from CD

I am trying to install a Microsoft Office/Vista compaitable program (Office Suite 2008) and am unable to accomplish this.

I went to computer, DC drive, right clicked and there is no run or install selection.

Please help.

    All,

The suggestions were great. However, since I am PC challenged, I decided to return the "compatible" software and cough up the $160+ for the MS version.

Thanks a bunch! The immediate responses and can-do attitudes were overwhelming.

View the files by " Type" and look for the .exe " the executable" there should be one that says install or application, try running any of those, one should start the installation. But if its a burned copy then it may have been left out by mistake, in that case you out of luck.

Just open the cd drive, insert the install cd, and then you should see an autostart/install routine begin. may have to wait a few minutes, but it will start.

I dont have microsoft word in my program

Hi,

You can add Word to your existing MS office by going to Control Panel->Add Remove Programs. Select the MS office Professional 2007 then click the change button. Install the Word program by clicking the dropdown arrow besides the MS Word and selecting Install on first use. If you have the MS office CD, you can run the autorun and try to install word from there.

Microsoft office stopped working properly

ok no problem, normally using a disk defragmentor will not harm programs or how your computer runs at all, only speeds it up by getting everything to work in sync which is good.

ok....if you are using vista, go to control panel, then programs and features, find Microsoft office 2004 or 2007 and click on it to highlight, now right click on it again, you will see some options come up, select repair and follow onscreen instructions
....if that doesn't work select uninstall by right clicking on it again and follow instructions, this will remove microsoft office from your computer ok, then use your install cd/dvd to re install microsoft office suite.
........also i think it is possible to use your install disc/s to repair or reinstall.

Microsoft Office Suite 2008

Do a "Complete" install - the next screen should give you the chance to select the items that you want to have installed on the computer.

Click on each one that you DO NOT want - select "Entire feature will be unavailable" - and leave Word alone.

Continue the Install process and only Word will be installed.

Good luck.
