Help!!! I am locked out of my MP3 Player and I can't get the player to work. Each time I try and turn it on, I get the message "KEY HOLD!" and it immediately shuts off. I've tried repeatedly to slide the HOLD button toward the PLAY/STOP button as recommended in the manual, but to no avail. I can't get the player open. Is there something (anything) else "I" can do to get the player to work?
Thx,
Jack

Allow unit to run dead.recharge battery.turn on and push reset(small paper clip in reset hole).turn off and back on .should now work.if not format and download new soft ware at http://support.creative.com/kb/ShowArticle.aspx?sid=8451.RICHARDM69
On the top of the player there is a slider. When it is showing orange next to it your player is "Locked" so accidental button pushing wont mess up your tunes. Slide it over so it shows only white instead of orange and your player should be just fine.
Try this: disconnect the player from the computer, turn it off, hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware Wizard
Look at the top of it, there is a switch saying 'hold' switch it in the opposite direction. The button is used so it does not turn on automaticly. When you have switched it, turn it on. It will work!
Good luck!
Most things with "Hold" button don't turn off the device. So I surspect there might be a deeper problem.
You could try to check the battery see if it's still good.
As last resourt, you could try to open it up and see if some how buttons are permanently pressed. You could even try to power it on without the switches.
Most of this MP3 players (the small 1 that uses only 1 battery) are pretty much self contain so there shouldn't be anything wrong.
