Disconnect all speaker connections and rca cables. Leave power, ground and remote wires intact. Try turning on again. If you still have a protection light your amp is faulty. Hopefully you have warranty . Send to Rockford Fosgate for repair .A thumbs up would be greatly appreciated if this answer is helpful to you.
What will need to be done first, disconnect all wires. Reconnect ground wire, then connect +12 volt wire. Check to see if the protect light comes on. If it does, then there are internal problems with the amp and will need to be repaired. If the protect light does not come on, then connect the ignition or switched +12 volts. If the protect light comes on, again there is an internal problem and will need to be repaired, but if the protect light does not come on, then try to connect an RCA jack. If the protect light comes on, there is a problem with that RCA jack try the other. If both RCA jacks turn on the protect light, then check RCA jacks to be sure that they are not grounding or being pinched. You may want to try another set of RCA's. The other would be to disconnect RCA's from the radio, connect them to the amp and check to see if the protect light comes on, If it doesn't then the problem is with the radio, and the radio will need to be repaired.
