Error code First load ever washed in it and SUD appears. I try to run an empty load through it to try to get the suds out, but error code F 35 appears on the screen then it won't do anything.

My washer has been coming up with error code SUD and F 02. I have already tried running it empty to rinse clean and unclogging the filter. What can I do now?

  • Anonymous Mar 30, 2008

I can't find my manuals and my front load washer keeps coming up with an 02 error several times through a cycle. I push cancel and then the control button and it starts up again but happens a couple of times during a wash and is very annoying.

Also, is there a lint trap to clean on these things?

    Thanks so much!!

I just purchased a whirlpool duet front load washer and it will not finish a cycle. The error code is F35

  • Anonymous Jul 11, 2008

I had the suds message and tried to solve it by running through a rinse and spin cycle followed by a regular cycle with no detergent, but it will not complete the cycle and shows the F35 error code.

  • moonshine528 Jul 12, 2008

the last 4 loads i have done the "sud " appears, i am using the same soap as before, same quantity . I noticed that the machine is then full of soap and the only way to get rid of it is to stop the cycle, restart with rinse and spin cycle.

Goes to a SUD Cycle and then F35. what can I do to fix this ? short of an expensive repairmand coming over.

  • cal_mag Sep 28, 2008

My Whirpool Duet with Steam has the same problem,

it had an F35 error a few weeks ago and I reset it by unplugging it. This weekend it is going to SUD and then f35. I have tried all the "fixes" nothing seems to work. I am calling a repair service Monday. It's only 3 months old so it should still be in warranty,

I have the same problem with my washer. It will start then SUD light comes on then after

a while f35 will come on and it will stop running. I wait til it shuts off and restart it again. What does it mean? How do I fix it. It also makes the clothes smell funny. I have been using Era He liquid detergent and Laura Lynn brand bleach.

Have the same problem with my Whirlpool Model WFW9500TC01. After pressing the start button, it will lock, unclock and lock the door. The drum would turn a bit and dump the water. As it fills water, sud error will come up and a few minutes later will display F35 Error. The unit is about 10 months old.

I have the same problem with my Whirlpool Washer Model WFW9500TC01. After pressing the start button, it locks, unclock and locks again the door. The drum would turn a bit and start the dump cycle. As the unit fills water, it displays a sud error. After a few minutes, it will display an error code F35. This code was not defined in the manual. I have the same problem as the above. I spoke with the service agent who said because my model number is WFW9600TW01 and not the same as the others they have no reported issue with the washer.  She did offer right away to cover the part and let me choose who would complete the service.  Any idea if i can get the service covered and an extension on the warranty?

My Whirlpool Duet Steam washing machine used to run for a couple of minutes, then it would say SUDS on the display, and then it would display error code F35. To fix this, I removed and replaced the analog pressure switch located under the top cover panel in the back right corner of the washer (as viewed when standing in front of the washer looking down at the top). I called the Whirlpool customer service 1-800 number that I found in my washer's instruction manual to order the switch. The part number of the switch is: W10156252. The model number of my Whirlpool Duet Steam washer is: WFW9600TW01. I paid a total of $89 for the switch and overnight FedEx shipping.

What I learned in the process:
1. The "Analog Steam", and "Analog Pressure", switches that everyone speaks of are the same thing (at least according to the customer service representative with whom I spoke).
2. I read somewhere that you can determine if the switch is broken by blowing into it and listening for a click. Allegedly, if no sound can be heard the switch is broken. This is not true!! The broken switch on my washer did not make a sound when I blew into it, but neither did the new switch that I received from Whirlpool (which ended up fixing the washer).
3. The customer service representatives will barter on the price of the switch!

Hope this post helps you remove and replace your bad Analog Pressure switch. I tried to upload a labeled photograph of the washer and switch but this site would not cooperate.

Our new Whirlpool Duet had the same problem after only three months of use. We contacted Whirlpool since the washer is still under warranty. The issue is a "bad pressure switch". The part number is W10156252. Service company replaced the part yesterday, and the washer is working like normal. Whirlpool nor the service company had any explanation why the part would go bad in such a short time. No charge since the washer is under warranty.

WARNING - There must be a shortageWe were initially told that the part was backordered for 2 to 3 weeks. We even tried to obtain the part through other vendors and got the same time frame. Furious with the potential of being without a brand new washer for 3 weeks, we spent many hours on the phone with Whirlpool trying to expedite the part. After some strong encouragement and moving the issue up the chain of customer service, Whirlpool agreed to pull a part from the factory inventory where the washers are built. The only problem is that nobody could tell us when, or if, the new part would be shipped. Suddenly, the part just arrived by FedEx at our house. In all, our washer was inoperable for 1 week. Be persistent. They will tell you over and over there is nothing they can do.

If you negotiate well, Whirlpool will extend your factory warranty for an additional year.

Sud= The unit has sensed there is too many suds in the unit it will flush and pump out for 5 min and restart on its own..This is caused by too much soap use..
From the book :
SUD Code=
If too much detergent was used:
—Run the unit through a Rinse/Spin cycle.
—Run a Normal cycle without adding any detergent.
This should clear the unit of the excess detergent.
1. Check the drain hose and make sure it is not plugged
or kinked.
2. Unplug washer or disconnect power.
3. Check wire harness connections to the drain pump,
pressure switch, and Central Control Unit (CCU).
4. Check/clean drain pump filter of foreign objects.
5. Plug in washer or reconnect power.
6. Check drain pump.
7. Check the pressure switch.
8. Verify CCU operation by running a Diagnostic test or any
cycle.

As far as the F35 i dont see that code for your model on the sheet plz verify this code

F35 and SUD. The solution is replacing the pressure sensor switch, W10156252, which is defective. Unfortunately, the replacement, W10415587, apparently does not exist! But I used a work-around: substitute W10312527; you need to trim one small plastic tab off of the electrical plug from the washer. This worked perfectly for my Maytag MHWE500VW11.

Just received our Duet Steam washer & dryer today. Washer will not perform any cycle. The door locks, unlocks, then locks again. Drain pump activates for a short time. Drum turns slowly twice. Small burst of water enters machine then immediately get the SUD error. There are no suds in the machine at all, it has never actually started the wash cycle. It does this without any detergent at all. Turn the machine off and try again and this time get the F35 after which the controls don't respond and the machine won't turn off. Each time we turn the power off at the breaker (can't reach the plug behind the machines up on the pedestals) and try again we get one of the 2 above errors. Brand new machine and can't even do 1 load of laundry. Luckily the store has agreed to exchange the machine. I refuse to waste time on multiple visits from repair tech and not have a working machine for several weeks when it's a brand new unit. Hopefully the 2nd machine will work. Don't they test these things before they leave the factory??

Wow, three years and still the same problems with the Duet!
I purchased the Duet Front Load set in Sep 2009 and yesterday it started throwing the same errors I have been reading about above. The suds thing, then it stops at the beginning of the cycle and blinks Error Code F-35 and becomes unresponsive. I can get it to drain, and it shuts itself off but that's about it. Loaded or unloaded, makes no difference. It will not complete the cycle.

When I called for service, they identified the F-35 error as a "steamer component error" and it does require a service call.

I'm having the same F35 error as everyone else on my 18month old washer.
I HATE this Whirlpool washer - it doesn't clean my clothes as well as my old washer, takes forever to run a cycle, and i have to run it through the clean cycle quite often. It gets a musty old-water smell, which makes my clothes stink even after they've been washed, so I have to leave the door propped open when it's not in use to air it out. That's a terrible design flaw. I will NEVER buy another Whirlpool !!! Have NO idea how to fix it. I bought it at Lowes and they're no help at all - they gave me a number to a local fix it shop. Nice.

I'm on my second Duet and wishing I had gotten something else last year when my first one EXPLODED with me standing in front of it. Lucky for me the shrapnel from the metal drum blowing apart was contained by the outer metal casing. Because it was a month over the warranty the best they could do was give me 25% off on a new one....I was desperate with dirty clothes overtaking me and went for the new Duet with the discount. IT SUCKS - DOESN'T CLEAN CONTRACTORS DIRTY CLOTHES AND I TOO HATE THE SMELL IT LEAVES MY CLEAN CLOTHES WITH.....SOOO DISAPPOINTED WITH MY SUPER EXPENSIVE CRAPPY WASHING MACHINE

  • maytag45011 Apr 03, 2011

All front Load washers do this
I suggest yo keep the door open when not in use
do not let clothes sit in machine for period of time
use a washing machine cleaner availible in soap isle of
    grocery store aevery 3 months
for mold on door seals use tilex and scrub brush

SOURCE: whirlpool duet washer flashing sud then f21 ????????

The "SUD" error is in direct relationship the other error code. "F21" is a Long Drain error. The following link explains:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r1484065-f21_error_code_whirlpool_duet_kenmore

If something is preventing water from pumping through the drain pump, you will often get a "SUD" error as air is developed in the pump. Make sure you double check all the drain lines as well.

If you have questions, or require additional assistance, please let me know before you rate the solution. I hope this helps you.

SOURCE: error code F35 and SUD

Hi,

Just tilt the washer back and prop it up with some wood blocks. Three screws are right on the front at the very bottom. Use a 9/32 socket to remove them. The front cover slides right off. The drain trapclean out is right in the middle. Turn the large white knob counter-clockwise to remove it and clean.
Thank you !!

SOURCE: I have a whirlpool WFW9600TW01 front load washer.

Hi dear.I may have solution for the SUD error. You can give it a go.But I do not know any thing about F35 one
The motor control unit senses a suds lock condition by analyzing the current draw on the drive motor. If “Sud” is displayed a potential suds lock is detected. This may signify a bad pump, an extra heavy load, excessive detergent, or excessive suds.

Potential Causes

• If too much detergent was used, run the unit through a Rinse/ Spin cycle then a
Normal cycle without adding any detergent. This should clear the unit of the excess detergent.
• Check the drain hose and make sure it is not plugged or kinked
• Check Wire Harness connections to the Drain Pump, Pressure Switch, and Central Control Unit (CCU)
• Check / Clean Drain Pump Filter of foreign objects
• Check Drain Pump
• Check the Pressure Switch
• Check CCU

Replace failed component.

As it says run couple of rine cycles it should get back to normal.I hope that helps you.Thanks.

Rl on the control panel

The "rl" (remove load) error code appears when you are running the "Clean Washericon1.png" cycle. You must not have a load of clothes in the washer during this cycle. Remove the clothes from the drum, and restart the cycle. The "Sud" error indicates that the detergent is over-sudsing. The Duet washer automatically combats this by reducing the amount of suds in the washing machine. Let the washer finish the suds-reduction steps. Use less detergent during the next wash cycle.

I keep getting error codes on washer and will not continue the cycle

That code in most cases means you have a bad pressure switch. It is generally $99.00 (approx) for the cost of the part.

He4t error sud and f2

Hi, "F02" is a Long Drain error code. This is an indication that you may have an obstruction somewhere in the drainage system somewhere. In most cases this means there is a clog in the drain pump or inlet line running from the wash tub to the pump. There is a white screw off cap on the drain pump that you can remove to inspect the pump impeller and clean.

The "SUD" error code can often occur in conjunction with the "F02" error code. This is due to air being detected in the drainage system, which can occur if the pump is not running, or if you have an obstruction BEFORE the pump. You need to remove the inlet hose from the pump to ensure it is also not blocked. Correct your drainage system fault, and the SUD error should go away.

If these preliminary measures do not correct your problem, you may have to replace the drain pump. It does not take much to damage the pump impeller or motor. Since the error code is generated if the drain cycle exceeds 8 minutes, if the pump is damaged and can't pump at the required volume, the error code will continue to appear until the pump is replaced.

My kenmore washer showes sud code

If it is similar to the Whirlpool duet,

Try using less soap (hi eff machine)
try using more fabric softner
to clear the occasional Sud warning, I run the machine on "quick wash" with no detergent/additive. gives it two more quick spin cycles in 30-35 minutes, usually clears it.

Sud means you using to much soap and the f code means soap is locking the drain pump up and wont allow unit to drain and spin.
