Sony DVD Recorder RDR-HXD990 will not timer record.

Hello
To unlock the receiver from child lock, Press '/Power ON button on the recorder. The recorder turns OFF and ' CHILD LOCK' appear on the display. The timer indicator remains lit if there is a timer setting. The recorder will not workexcept for timer recordings.
To unlock the recorder, Hold Down '/Power button on the front panel of the recorder itself, until the "CHILD LOCK" display disappears from the front panel display.

Check video input setting to DVD recorder...should be set to "External" or "Line". This should activate the video input jacks on the rear of the RDR-VX530 and allow it to "see" your Sony handycam.

That'd be a Firmware Update to version 1.26

play a lens cleaner cd in it,,, it will work smoothly

if it is only some programs, verify that your recording times are not overlapping and you are setting the timer for the correct times

press dub on your remote, it will open the menu choose your programme you want record then click on hdd to disc.
