My Kenmore Elite washer spins to slow cauisng the

My Kenmore Elite washer spins to slow causing the clothes to be wet after wash cycle. It is model 110.15942400

  • Anonymous Jan 29, 2010

This seems to occur, even while empty. The drum spins, just not at top speed where it should be. I did some additional research and some have suggested a bad or worn motor coupler. There is no oil leak so we're good there. I will try holding the drum back on your request and get back to you. Thanks for your assistance thus far.

If this is occurring mostly on heavier loads your clutch may be slipping. If you take a flathead screwdriver and push down the lid switch so the washer will spin with the lid up, grab the inside of the drum. If you can easily stop the drum its most likely a bad clutch. If you tip the washer back and see oil underneath then its probably your transmission leaking oil onto the the clutch causing it to slip (in which case you need transmission and clutch assy). If you see oil I would probably not bother calling a tech it would be a pretty expensive repair.
IF the problem is with the clutch only it may be worth repairing but to replace the clutch you will have to remove the pump, motor, transmission, and the clutch mounts on top. The other less common possibility could be a bad drive block under the inner tub. hope this helps. _MJ_

During the spin cycle it spins correctly until the last 2-3 minutes and then it just fluffs clothes

Some machines used a variable speed slow down process to avoid clothing damage, this removes the items from the outside of the drum where if the clothing was left for a length of time after the cycle has finished it could damage the fibres, this way the clothing is also easier to remove from the machine and promotes airflow over the items

Kenmore elite model 11027052602 clothes wet after spinning cycle why

You might have a restriction in the outlet hose. Worse, you might have a bad pump.
It is easy to check for the constriction. Pour water into the tub, set the timer for the spin cycle and watch how strong/fast the water leaves the hose. Check for water beneath the tub.

Clothes still wet after cycle is over

Be sure drain hose is not kinked and no higher than the top of washer to drain pipe. Remove clothes as soon as it stops spinning

Kenmore elite washing machine spin cycle slow. The clothes are still dripping wet when removed from the washer.

In my HE3T, this was indicative of the water pump going out. In its 8th year, my HE3T is now on its 3rd water pump.

If it goes through the complete cycle o.k. except for the slow spin then the motor itself needs to be checked.
