Dell Latitude D510 Wireless Connectivity Fades/Dies

Just updated drivers for wireless (purchased laptop old and used) and am attempting to use wireless. The wireless modem recognizes and connects to my network very strongly, but quickly fades and ostensibly loses the connection. Tried disconnecting and reinstalling the card, but it didn't really help.

If I switch to another network, it will again connect strongly (maybe able to get one click into a website), then grinds to a halt.

Wireless connection has disappeared since re-installation of windows on dell d510

You will need the drivers from the Dell website, or install the Dell drivers and utilities disk if you still have it.

My dell latitude d510 drops wireless connection, lately as many as 5-6 times an hour. The routers seems to be working, and the wireless connection Icon says I am connect by I get the screen telling me I am...

The problem may not be the WI-FI but in the router itself. You didn't mention the strength of the connection when you are able to connect. It's also possible that the channel the router is on has interference and changing the channel will provide a more reliable signal.

Dell latitude 820 wireless driver problem

Try a forced install. Unpack the driver into a folder, then update the driver through the device manager. Make sure you dont have the wrong driver. Most laptops nowadays have a lan driver and an ethernet driver (it may not directly say wireless driver). Use a program called Everest to confirm the wireless devices' chipset.

Dell Latitude D510 PC Notebook Problem

You're not overlooking anything, with some Dell machines, neither the wireless nor the ethernet drivers are installed with a system reload, and it's expected of you to get the drivers on line. So, you will have to burn the drivers to disc from another machine in order to down load them. You can also use an external hard drive or flash drive, if you have these available to you. Keep in mind that some flash drives aren't big enough, depending on the size of the download.
