I have a Leapster Lmax that works fine all but no sound and the volume is turned all the way up. Any Suggestions?
We had the same problem and I found the speaker was broken. Radio Shack part # 273-0092 is almost a direct replacement. Under $4 and works like new now.
Leapster L-Max recalibrates differently. I was trying to use the instructions and it kept asking for a blue button. For the Leapster L-Max push B, A, Hint, and Home when you turn it on. Do not have a cartridge in the player or it will think it is a regular Leapster. Once it says calibrate screen it will say to press A, then wait until a target appears in the upper left hand corner, touch it and you should hear a sound, then a new target appears in the lower left hand, repeat actions, then lower right hand screen, and finally the upper right hand screen. If it stops at any time and doesn't get more arrows, try it again or turn it off and see if the pen works. It may take several times to get it working again.

we think it needs a new speaker which would be fine if i could find any leapster spare parts - please help.
we have the same problem with our sons Leapfrog Leapster2. no more sound. i hope we find a solution for this stuff is expensive plus the cartridges.
leapster lmax works fine with tv and or earphones, but not alon.

New Leapster 2, less than one month old. Sound works just fine through headphones, but the speaker doesn't work anymore.

Same thing here. We couldn't figure out why the sound no longer works. It's frustrating - has anyone contacted the company yet. I of course have no receipt as it was a Christmas gift and it worked well when it was opened. Just stopped working later.
Have only had our leaperster2 (Cars Special Edition) for 2 months and have the exact same problem - my son heard the sound getting "funny" and we actually heard the speakers fade from some "fuzzy" sounds into nothing. And now there's no sound at all. Very annoying and puzzling.
