How to save contacts from mobile handset to sim card?

make sure if sim reader is not pin damaged or water damaged? if problem persist i think you can connect your device without simcard and copy all data to your pc, then give some repairer to check maybe need to flash (if flash you will lose your data).
or try to put your mobile without battery 2 days and then switch on to see may be this problem solves.with S.E. this problem a normal.

THE EASIEST WAY IS TO SAVE ALL YOUR OLD CONTACTS AND INFOMATION TO YOUR SIMS CARD AND PUT THAT CARD IN YOUR NEW PHONE..(OLD PHONE)...GO TO CONTACTS...SELECT CONTACT SETTINGS...SAVE TO SIMS CARD, (NEW PHONE)...SELECT SAVE TO PHONE, OR JUST CONTINUE TO USE THE SAME (OLD) SIMS CARD!

AS TO REGISTERING...YOU WILL NEED TO GO-ONLINE...IF YOU DON'T HAVE INFO ON PHONE ON HOW TO REGISTER...THAN DO A WEB SEARCH... ENTER MANUFACTURER AND MODEL NUMBER, YOU'LL FIND THE SITE TO REGISTER YOUR PHONE.

I am assuming that your Mobile Handset is Nokia. If its not Nokia, please do not take this solution.
Go to Menu>Contacts>Options>Settings>Contacts>Contacts to Display [Phone Memory, Sim Memory, Both]

lock code is 0000 and yes it is because u saved to simcard from phone and kept original ones

Tired of memorizing new PIN codes? We show you how to change your SIM card's various PIN and PUK codes in less than 5 seconds.

Although most people remember their primary SIM PIN code, those othercodes - used for various verification purposes - are never to be foundwhen needed. Below we've included a set of short codes which, whenentered on a handset's standby screen, will let you easily change PINand PUK (short for Pin Unlock Code) codes - but keep in mind, they maynot work with all handsets and mobile operators.

More importantly, when changing ones PUK codesthere'll be no help to get from the mobile operator if the new codesare forgotten, so make sure to write any changes down alongside the oldPUK codes. Also, please note that the codes should be entered withoutthe spaces shown below.

You might need your phone's security code to do that! But I guess you forgot the code? Nothing to worry though, you can try these steps below:

1. Turn off the handset and remove the SIM card.
2. Turn on the handset WITHOUT the SIM card.
3. At the Insert SIM card screen, enter *2767*2878# (that is, star 2767 star 2878 pound).
   
   If fails please try code *2767*3855# (that is, star 2767 star 3855 pound).
   
   • NOTE: The handset now resets to factory settings. This erases all downloaded content as well as pictures, text messages, and phone book entries that are saved to the handset.
4. The handset automatically turns itself off and then back on, and then it returns to the Insert SIM card screen.
5. Turn off the handset and insert the SIM card.
6. Turn on the handset.
• NOTE: It may take about one minute for the handset to find a signal after this procedure. After it finds a signal, the handset should then function as expected with the security code set back to default (00000000 8 zeros).

There are basically two types of directory entries for your saved numbers: 1) Numbers on your physical 'broken' mobile handset memory: LOST! 2) Numbers saved on your 'portable' SIM card: just plug the SIM in another 'unlocked' handset and they will be there!

Make sure your contacts are saved to the handset not the sim
this is because nokia handset only read the name and number from the handset when you get a call
so copy your contacts to the handset and this should work

that s because there may be some problem in the sim card holder or the sim card holder is in loose contact ...

just open the handset and remove and clean the sim card holder with some alcoholic solvent and refit that correctly and then get your mobile phone working for the sim cards ...
