DVDs not recognized on other DVD players

I have successfully recorded several DVD's on the 5115 but have not been able to get them to play on any other DVD player. I have tried them on two computer DVD players as well as a Panasonic RV32 and a Sony player.

You have to finalize them first. once you do this, you can not record onto the disc again.

RECORD DVD WILL not play on other dvd plays

There is a possibility that the DVD was not burnt to be compatible with other players. Or the player you are trying to play it on does not play burnt DVDs.

How to transfer Panasonic DMR-E80H recorded DVDs to computer

I have to agree with XELIAM regarding finishing the disk, under the DVD "FUNCTIONS" selection from the remote. I also use the SLYSOFT products to transfer my videos to what ever other mode of video I wish to have, whether iPOD (MP4), or DIVX (AVI) or loads of other options. Slysoft makes a GREAT product

LG and Sony DVD players no longer recognize dvds

Clean the lens with a soft cloth preferably cotton to avoid scratching it. Do not use cotton as it will leave fibers on the lens.

DVDs from DVR don't play on any other DVD player

yes when you have finished the recording and preferably when the disc is full the disc must be finalised to be compatible with other players but be aware if you finalise a disc you cannot record on it anymore

Disc error message when load DVD

Are you loading to play or to record?
Commercial DVDs should play.
DVDs for recording may not be recognized by your drive. First make sure that the disc is blank. You must insert a blank disc of the proper format: DVD-R or RW, DVD+R or RW. Even with the proper format, some brands may not behave the same way as other brands.

Dvd player wont recognize newly burned dvd

Give this a try : write a DVD at 1x speed (lowest speed) and test it on your laptop. If this works ok then either use better media or lower (e.g half) your writing speed........

Samsung DVD-V$357 recorded dvds won't play on other machines

Did you finalize the disk? If not, this should solve your problem. When the disk is finalized you should be able to play it on your computer if you can play other DVDs on it. Some other DVD players can only play specific disks (i.e. DVD-R, DVD+R). This may be another problem.

SAMSUNG DVD R120 error EC:0207

I had exactly the same problem -- error message of "This disc can be neither played nor recorded. Please check the disk [EC:0207]" after the machine had been working fine for a year. I downloaded the latest firmware from the Samsung website, burned it to a CD-R disk (took three tries until the DVD Recorder recognized the disk -- worked when I used Rocio CD Creater software), then loaded the firmware updates to the DVD Recorder. On the Samsung website you can retrive the firmware update instructions as well. I had to perform the firmware upgrade several times until it successfully updated both the system firmware as well as the disk firmware. After successfully updating both, the Recorder now recognizes the DVD-R disks and I was able to resume recording. I have however, noted some choppiness with the playback of the newly recorded disks. Other than that, the firmware upgrade successfully resolved the problem.
