Take the adapter cable from the Wii that plugs into the back of the Wii and converts the output(audio/video) into RCA style pin plugs, you will have: RED=right channel audio, plug it into any of the red audio INPUT on your Onkyo, then you will have WHITE=left channel audio, plug it into the other white INPUT jack next to the red plug on the Onkyo, then you will have YELLOW= video(picture) that will go directly to the yellow video INPUT on the back or side INPUTS of your TV.
Then when you want to play the Wii, set the input mode on the Onkyo to the inputs that you connected the red and white plugs into, then change the input on your TV to which ever the input is labeled on your TV in which you plugged the yellow plug into, you now will have sound comming from your Onkyo and the Wii up on the TV screen ready to play. Anything that has a headphone output can be adapted to feed an RCA cable pair for standard stereo to any audio device with a standard RCA input (except PHONO).

Get a cable like the one described here: http://www.monoprice.com/products/product.asp?
c_id=102&cp_id=10218&cs_id=1021804&p_id=665&seq=1&format=2

and connect it into any available analog input EXCEPT "Phono".

Check the laptop's audio controls. Try any input on the BACK of the Onkyo to make sure it's not a failure to select the input you're using.

Onkyo tx-sr507. was listening to music and suddenly cut out. Will not restart despite disconnecting all speakers etc. standby light flashing

How can I connect my Onkyo TX-SR507 to a PC to play MP3 files
The easiest way is to use a 1/8" stereo to dual RCA cord and connect the output of the sound card to an AUX input on the receiver. These cables are readily available and cheap. You shoul dhave 3 mini jacks on the back of the computer related to the sound card setup.

1) Audio input mic
2) Audio input line
3) Audio output line

Connect the receiver to the audio output line jack.

How do I link my Onkyo TX-SR507 to a PC?
It sounds like you don't fully understand the Onkyo's HDMI port assignment procedures.

But why burden an HDMI cable with audio only? Don't you have a coaxial digital or spdif optical output on the PC you could use? That would make things simpler for setup. Just jam it into one of the appropriate audio inputs on the Onkyo.

I am looking for the remote control code for a 1988 Pioneer CD Multi-Play Compact Disc Player, PD-M400. I want to input the code into the Onkyo remote control. The Onkyo AV receiver is model # TX-SR507.
Pioneer CD player codes for Onkyo universal remotes are: 70032, & 70101.

(possibly Zone 2 activated)

To reset the AV receiver to its factory defaults, turn it on and, while holding down the [VCR/DVR] button, press the [ON/ STANDBY] button (see page 93).
