My son turned the ps3 off on the back of the counsel and when it was turned back on my other son was unable to get online. We have it hooked up wirelessly to our home network via a router. The signal strength is %95. We can't figure out how to get it back online.

I went on Sonys site and looked for some troubleshooting solutions. One of the suggestions was to turn off and unplug my router for 2 minutes and then reconnect it. I tried that and it worked.

My playstation 3 was repaired by Sony about 7 months ago. It's been working fine. My son hooked it up to his TV today to play the new NCAA Football 11. When I hooked it back to my TV I get absolutely...

First connect the PS3 to the TV you want it on. Then try resetting the display resolutions on the PS3 by holding the power button for a few seconds when the PS3 is off until you hear 3 beeps. That should re-detect the video and should solve your problem. Hope this helps!

Hello my sons ps3 has stopped loading games,

I have seen lasers burn out shortly after 1 year. They are available online for purchase. It would be the laser for sure if the system starts up fine, disks go into and out of the console and if there is an icon in top right of screen like it is trying to read. I have fixed a few but laser replacement usually cost $150. Good Luck

Can't connect my PS3 to a Linksys Wireless-G BB router

What type of encryption are you using for your router. I am hooking up my son's PS3 to the wireless. I'm also a computer, network, and server technician. I may be able to help.

Origiannly had my son's PS# hooked up to our HD TV

You must reset your PS3 in order to accept the new TV configuration.

  • If the video output settings on the PLAYSTATION®3 do not match those of the cable or TV in use, there may be no picture. If the screen goes blank, turn off the system.
  • Then, with only the PLAYSTATION®3 and the TV connected, touch the system's power button for more than 5 seconds to turn the system back on. The video output settings will automatically be reset to the standard resolution.

    Its not reading the disks

Yeah this same thing happened to me, I had not played the PS3 in a while, my 2 sons 6 and 12 play it more than me!. Anyway one day I went to put a disc in, and low and behold it wouldn't read the disc!. Next thing I know I'm getting an error message saying "needs to rebuild database". It was unable to rebuild the database and instructed me to reformat the hard drive!, well I didn't reformat it, instead I turned off the system, unplugged all the cords and let it sit for 24 hours. When I hooked it back up, the error message disappeard and it was reading discs again! HURRAY!!!. What I'm going to do, and you might want to as well is, invest in and external USB hard drive. They sell them at Best Buy for around $100.00. The PS3 has a backup utility, but you need somewhere to back it up to. I'm not sure if any USB external hard drive will work, but you might want to check into it. Hope this helps.
