DVD operation I have my DVD player connected to Symphonic 32" TV. I lost the remote of my TV. I'm not able to play my DVD player (Philips) with it. Any help on how to reach to AV channel to play my DVD will be higly appreciated
Scroll down on the channel button from channel 2. the different aux inputs should be there.there may also be a video/line in/source button on the front of the tv.if there isn't, you can buy a cheap universal remote for under $10 [even in some dollar stores for $1]

New Funai-Philips-Magnavox-Symphonic-Philco NB079UD DVDRemote Control. This remote was designed ...
You may view/download the manual here. I don't see a replacement for the original remote, but you should be able to program a universal remote to work with the unit.
I hooked up a Pioneer DVD player to my TV and when I play a DVD the volume cannot be controlled by the TV. It just plays at one level and on the louder side. When I'm watching regular TV and the DVD player is on and playing a disc I start to hear the DVD soundtrack at the same time as the whatever I'm watching on TV. I should not be able to hear anything until I switch over to Video 1. Any suggestions?
On the remote ther is a tv/av button. Turn the DVD on and press play and the press that buttom on the tv remote and you will see your dvd playing. Have a good day.
Now if it was me I would go for a universal remote. Have one remote control all devices.
I know the DirecTV remote can control several devices as well. I would look up your reciever's manual and see what it says on programming the DVD player.
