I have a kenmore Oasis that powers up but wont start

I have a kenmore Oasis washer machine that powers up but wont start on any cycle. When you push the start button it makes an electrical buzzing noise. The water lines are both on too. I have replaced the main board and checked for a clog in the drain pump. No codes are shown at all and the pump is clear. any ideas?

Console and Indicators Diagnostic Test Mode Activation

  1. While in standby mode, press the following button sequence within four seconds: SOIL LEVEL>WASH RINSE TEMP>SOIL LEVEL>WASH RINSE TEMP
  2. Press the START button within five seconds of "dt" showing on the display. All indicators should turn on and "88" is displayed.
  3. Press START again. The two-digit display and the status indicators turn off while all other indicators remain lit.
  4. Press START again. The two-digit display and the status indicators turn on while all other indicators remain lit.
  5. Rotate the WASH CYCLE selector back and forth. The indicators will switch on an off.
  6. Press the buttons to check the function. The indicators will switch on or off and a beeping sound will be heard when a button is pressed.
  7. Press STOP or POWER button to exit diagnostic test mode.
  8. If no indicators light up or if no beeping sound is heard when a button is pressed or if some buttons do not light up indicators when pressed, check the user interface board and its connection to the main/control board.
  • Unplug the machine.
  • Remove the three screws on the back of the console.
  • Lift the console off the cabinet.
  • The control board is located on the right side of the console viewed from the front of the machine. Disconnect the middle wiring harness connector on the right side of the control board near the pressure transducer hose.
  • Clean the connector thoroughly to ensure a good connection.
  • Reinstall the console and reconnect power.
  • Run the diagnostic test once again.
  • Replace the user interface board if it fails the test once more.

    Activate the Automatic Diagnostic Mode to check any saved fault codes and the Manual Diagnostic Mode to check the drive motor, lid lock/switch assembly,and rotor position sensor.

    Automatic Diagnostic Mode Activation


        While in standby mode, select any button (remember it), except POWER, START and STOP, and follow these: Press/hold the button for three seconds > Release the button for three seconds > Press/hold the button for three seconds > Release the button for three seconds > Press/hold the button for three seconds. All indicators on the console will be illuminated for five seconds with "88" showing on the display if the test mode has been entered successfully. If not, repeat the sequence.

        The program then checks for saved fault codes. Take note of the fault code, if there's any, for your reference. Press the selected button in activating the test mode above to display the second most recent fault code. Press again for the third and again for the fourth.

        If there are no saved fault codes, all indicators on the console will momentarily turn off, then turn back on with "88" displayed.

        Press the STOP or POWER button to exit the test mode.
    Manual Diagnostic Mode Activation


        While in standby mode, select any button (remember it), except POWER,
        START and STOP, and follow these: Press/hold the button for three
        seconds > Release the button for three seconds > Press/hold the
        button for three seconds > Release the button for three seconds >
        Press/hold the button for three seconds. All indicators on the console
        will be illuminated for five seconds with "88" showing on the display if the test mode has been entered successfully. If not, repeat the sequence.

        Press the same button above once within the five second display of "88". A single beep occurs and the two-digit display shows one of the following console ID#s: 06, 08, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 44, 45, 46, 47, 48, 49, 50, 51, 52 for 3 seconds, then displays 00 and the Add A Garment indicator flashes. Replace the user interface board if none of the console ID numbers is displayed.

        Open and close the lid. Opening the lid should cause the Clothes Clean indicator to turn off. Closing the lid should cause the Clothes Clean status indicator to turn on.

        Close the lid. Press and release the 2nd RINSE button. The lid should lock and the lid lock indicator turns on. Press and release the 2nd RINSE button again. The lid should unlock and the lid lock indicator turns off.

        Open the lid and rotate the basket by hand. The WASH, RINSE and SPIN indicators should toggle on and off according to the direction the basket is being turned.

        If the test in Step 4 above is satisfied, close the lid and enable lid lock (refer to Step 4). Press and release the SPIN SPEED button. The basket should spin at about 23 rpm (revolutions per minute). Press the button again and the basket should spin faster. The basket should stop the fourth time you press the SPIN SPEED button.

        Fill the tub with water until the wash plate is completely submerged or more. Press and release the SOIL LEVEL button. Gentle wash action should activate. Pressing the button again should activate the Normal wash action and Heavy wash action when pressed again. The motor should stop the fourth time the SPIN SPEED button is pressed.
    Take note of the results and post it back for further troubleshooting and repair guide to help you resolve the problem.

If its the main board that you are having an issue with, honestly i will suggest to get a new one instead, might cost you as much as buying a new one if you are going to have it repaired.

My Kenmore Elite Oasis washing machine will drain but not spin and it keeps jumping back and forth to different time cycles. It continually reads "UL" and I keep trying to adjust and balance the load but it does not help.

I have the kenmoe Oasis he and out of no where this machine wont work. You push the start button and select and that is it 'Nothing" you have to unplug it and start over again but the same thing will happen "nothing" and plus the water wont drain! I feel this is a rip off machine. house wife

Power comes on and all lights come on, but the washer will not start the wash cycle. After the start button is pushed the lid lock will not lock.

That is why the washer won't start. Replace the lid lock. It is there to stop anyone from putting their hands inside of washer when it ia agitating, by stopping power to the motor.DO NOT try ANY attempts to mmake it work!!!! Injury may result

In mid cycle my daughter accidently lifted the lid to our Top Load washing machine. It did not turn on again and is sitting with water in it. What to do?

You need to reset your washer cycle. There is typically a dial that you push in and turn, then pull to start. If so, push it in and turn it to the start of a new cycle, then pull it to start the cycle. This should activate the new cycle and solve the problem.

Try replacing the motor coupler between the motor and pump three small pieces about 18.00 dollars at sears parts store.

Kenmore Elite Oasis HE F1 Error

Im sorry to tell you but you have a bad control board. This was a faulty board from the factory. There is a class action lawsuit agianst whirlpool (whirlpool made the oasis). Try calling to get whirlpool to fix it. Maybe try joining the lawsuit. They have remanufactured the part so the new one wont do that again. Its a great machine when it works right.
