First off seven to nine you do not use an external cid unit for norstar systems. Make sure you have a caller id card in the main ksu or key service unit( the phone cabinet) It should say CI on it. If the card says DS then you do not have a caller id card on the system and will need to exchange it for one. Then the system phones will have to be programmed for cid.
Hi Kelsea
Make sure you have your power adpator pluged in for you caller id. Your caller id will automaticly show up. If your adaptor is pluged in it is on the phone companys end. all phones are preset to accept caller id weather or not you have it actived on your phone bill.

Having the exact same problem as Kelsea this week. It totally is not the "adaptor" plugged in. There is not such an item on this phone system. It is the programming of the phone. The manuals are very cryptic on programming I find. I've contacted Nortel directly waiting for an answer. Or contact your rep that sold you the phone system, which is the next step I am going to do.
my problem is showing the caller ID before the call is picked up. It only shows after I pick up the line. How would I change this? Model M7310
Everything is set up on my phone for caller id and it is even supposed to be activated but nothing is showing up. Maybe I need to activate this again. How do I do this?
But it also depends on the software release,
Some of the older system only can offer Caller ID to one set, even if your set rings.
You may have to press FEATURE 8 1 1 to see the caller information.
