You have a fuel issue and is most likely a blockage in the carb.

    My ef2400ishc did the exact same thing. I opened her up and found the rubber hold down ******** the aluminum heat sink had broken. the heat sink was rubbing and i believe shorting a nearby cable at the cable terminal near the end. Tape up the terminal connections and I jimmied a rubber hold down strap out of 5 or six zip ties looped like a chain. So far so good!

2000 yamaha grizzly issues when warm

Check oil level capacity, to ensure in specs. Check spark plugs, ensure its clean and correct plug for your quad.the only other could be is ign coil breaking down when warm. Check fire at plug when this happens. First ensure oil level is correct. Make sure your electric fan is on when bike is warmed up.

Miller Legend welder. Onan engine starts and runs a few minutes then dies. Why won't it restart for 5 minutes?

Some engines have a low oil cutoff switch. If the oil level drops to a certain point it kills the engine. Your oil level may be close enough that after starting and running for a little bit the level drops enough to kill the motor. After sitting for awhile the level rises enough to allow the engine to run again check the level and add oil if necessary.
Hope this helps.

Saw will start. runs a little sluggish at first. then it will smooth out and rev high and run strong for a few minutes then gets sluggish again and dies. will not start again for 5 to 7 minutes minimum....

Being springtime, I'm thinking you may have had your saw sitting all winter with last years gas in it. If so, you'll need to clean the carburator and spark plug real good, then put fresh gas in it. Always remember to run your saw out of gas before putting it away. Gas only stays fresh for a few weeks and will foul up your sparkplug as well as plug up the inside of your carb when it gets stale.

Yamaha TW 200 starts but won't run.

If the bike has sat for a long period of time without being run - the gas that is sitting in the carb(s) will shellac.. Then the carb(s) would need to be cleaned and "rebuilt"..

1998 honda shadow will not start

Hi and welcome to FixYa,

Initially, a few possibilities you may want to check/explore:
  • stale gasoline;
  • clogged fuel filter (inside the tank above the fuel shutoff valve;
  • clogged, bocked, varnished, gummed carbs, jets, air pin holes;
  • stuffed air filter/box;
  • vacuum leak (rubber coupling, manifold side);
  • air leak (airbox base assembly seated/fitted on the carbs.
Basically, a general cleanup of the fuel lines, tank and the carbs. Sitting for some time tends to leave varnish like coating on most parts.

Good luck and Thank you for using FixYa. Happy Holidays.
