I have a ps3 system that I want to play online games w/. The problem is that I don't have the technology suggested by the ps3 manual for a wired OR wireless connection. Can you tell me howv to connect with nothing but a internet accessible laptop, ethernet cable, and the ps3 itself?

The Playstation Network is literally undergoing maintenance after being Hacked. The Servers are all down so no one can use the network for now. It is not an issue with your system so don't be worried.

Your Sony PS3 is having some technical problems. My cousin had the same problem and we were not able to send it to the Sony Repair shop again and again. So what we did was we bought an online PS3 Repair Guide which is really good.

All Blue Ray players need to be updated from time to time to keep up with the growing technology of Blue Ray. PS3 is the same way. It is asking you to update your PS3 in order to play the disc. On the back of the PS3 is a Ethernet port (looks like an over sized phone jack) connect this to your internet (modem) and it will update your encryption key and software needed to play Blue Ray discs. sounds like the tech info was upgraded on ps3 to handle newer technology and the 1 & 2 are not up to this new standard of operating system. Happens to me every time I upgrade my camera. That way they get you to keep buying new products.

same thing happened to me two days ago, it would play everything but ps3 games. i called sony and they said it would be $150 again (in april i had a yellow light failure) so i looked online and someone suggested reformatting the harddrive and now it works fine......thank god

My problem is the dropping connections with COD4. I can not play a whole session without losing it.
I am about to give up and buy a new router.
any suggestion?

If it's an old one, like I have one it will not work online, you have to get a newer version of PS2.
