eject the cd tray and use canned air to clean the inside of the cd/dvd unit, just use stick the nozzle near the opening and give it a through dusting. after that, run a cleaning disc through it a few times.
if that doesn't clear up the problem, the dvd player will need to be serviced, most likely either a lens replacement or re-alignment.
Unless I am mistaken there will be a little hole on the door (or near it). That is the manual eject, use a pin or a paper clip to press the button inside.
You may need to try a cleaning disc to remove dust from the laser heads, as dust may be impeding the player from recognizing the disc type. Also, double check the manual to see what disc formats your player can handle. All players have a variety of formats they accept or reject. If the owner's manual verifies that it does accept that CD format, try the cleaning. If that doesn't work, it may an issue that will require an authorized service center to look at, which may not be work the cost as replacement DVD players are very inexpensive. Avoid combo players such as the DVD/VCR combo, as when one quits performing, you either have to replace the entire unit or add a new single component for the bad one. Hope this helps!
Hi
I am trying to set up my LG V782W but have lost my user manual.
Can you help. I need to know how to tune channels and program to record.

A CD-ROM/DVD drive only needs power to eject a disc. It does not care if the drivers are installed, for that function, it only needs power.
If this is a new drive it might be a bad one. If this is a drive you have used before, it might have gone bad.
If you have a Disc stuck in the drive, you can always use a paper clip to preform a manual eject. Just unbend a paper clip, and stick it in the pin size hole on the front of the drive. Keep pushing until the drive door opens.
If this is new drive, make sure it is connected correctly.
