Disk not readable, Mac OSX 10.5.2

I can use the compact flash card reader fine, but it gives me an error when I plug it in to utilize the hard drive. It says that the disk is "not readable"
I can't find a driver anywhere for it, no software with the product got it from J&R.

Hey guys. I have an answer on how to fix the Trekstor Datastation "Removable Disk" problem.

I also own a Trekstor Datastation 500GB and had the same problem even though it worked for several months then all of a sudden when I tried to hook it up to another computer, it stopped working. It would recognize the USB connection but you could not read the drive as it would say "Removable Disk".

In "Device Manager" it recognizes the drive as Sundata USB2SATA. But what it really should be is "WDC WD50 00AAVS-32ZTB0 USB Device" or something similar to that. For those that are wondering, yes, the hard drive is a Western Digital Hard Drive. Western Digital Caviar to be exact.

Solution: You need to open the cover to the hard drive and reconnect the hard drive to the connector on the board. It's that simple!

It is very loose and this model is not well designed so it can easily come off if you accidentally knock over your hard drive or move it to another location. The hard drive is held in place by screws on a holder where there is room for the screws to slide if the screws are not tight enough.

You'll need a T10 screwdriver bit to remove the cover and a Phillips screwdriver to adjust the hard drive.

NOTE: Doing this will probably voids your warranty but trust me, it works and it's really easy and quick to do. Took me 15 minutes.

Hp back files on card can my computer restore these

The Hx 4700 series and the & The Hx2190 have a removable card Compact Flash or SD Card, if the information you want was stored on these you can buy a USB Card reader from woolies plug the SD or Compact flash into the card reader and plug it into the USB port of your PC or mac and it will be readable (no drivers needed). I want to format my transcend from mac how can i do it

Transcend produces different kinds of memory modules, including Random Access Memory, or RAM, chips for computer systems, USB flash drives and a variety of flash memory card formats, such as SD.

Transcend's flash memory devices are usually preformatted with either FAT32 or NTFS. Macintosh systems primarily use the HFS+ file system format.

You can format a Transcend flash memory card to the FAT format using the Disk Utility program on a Macintosh.

Insert the Transcend flash card into a card reader connected to the Mac.

Some Macintosh computers have SD card readers built in.

Open the Disk Utility program in the Utilities folder.

Click the flash card in the left column of the window.

Click the "Erase" tab.

Click "MS-DOS (FAT)" in the "Format" drop-down list.

Enter a name for the flash card in the "Name" box.

Click "Erase" to format the flash memory card to FAT.

Hope this helps

1T external will not mount on Mac OSX. It worked fine but just stopped. Have tried other computers and cables but nothing. It is getting power. Model #MDHD10T-U2 Serial #JPA7470874

This needs to be formatted before it can be used on a Mac.
  1. Launch Disk Utility by selecting ApplicationsUtilitiesDisk Utilities
  2. Click on the active partition to select it.
  3. Click on the Erase tab.
  4. Select MS-DOS (FAT) from the Volume Format drop-down menu.
  5. Click on the Erase button.
  6. When Disk Utility is finished erasing the disk, click on the active partition and ensure that the Format field at the bottom of the Disk Utility window says that the volume is MS-DOS (FAT32).
  7. You can now quit Disk Utility.

When i put the memory card in my digital camera, it says filesys error: e00100, and then it tells me that the memory is full, i just bought the memory card new.

Okay this means that there is a problem with the card. Can you Plug your card directly into your computer? If you can I need you to reformat the card. If you need instructions on how to do this Just ask. If that does not work I will continue to assist you to help you resolve your problem in the most efficient manner possible.

Installing Maxtor onto mac osx

I found the solution here: http://www.seagate.com/ww/v/index.jsp?locale=en-US&name=SATA_Troubleshooter_-_Mac_OS_X_Installation_Basics&vgnextoid=a0a44a3cdde5c010VgnVCM100000dd04090aRCRD#storage

but short version of it all:
Basically you just need to format the drive to get it working. Open up disk utility. Selecting the maxtor drive on the left in disk utility. Then select the erase tab. Then change MS-DOS (FAT) to Mac OS Extended. Finish by clicking erase.

Mine didn't work at first even though I plugged it in but after I did that it worked. Hope you can get yours working too!
