My monitor suddenly lost signal and hasn't returned

My monitor stopped recieving a signal. First my computer worked fine until the monitor cascaded the screen image in a distorted manner. Next I rebooted only to not get a signal at all. I'm starring at my black computer screen with the tower on and no image being displayed on the screen. Also the internal fan connected to the silver square thingy ceases operation in mid reboot. Do I need a new computer? Can I still retrieve valuable saved documents etc?

Do you mean the processor fan that is located near on the left top corner on the motherboard? if that stopped working then turn of your pc immediately. probably the cpu overheated. if that fan does not work replace it immediately as it will burn the cpu.

No signal going sleep

how old is your monitor? can you try to conect another monitor your pc has integrated videocard? does it turn on and beeps?, you should check the back pannel of your pc and try to conect it to onboard video first (if it has), if you get signal get into the bios and change video output from onboard to a external card. if this thing dont work, then vga cord may be damaged or the card is not installed right or not working.

Lost video signal to monitor (TV)

I had the same problem - Onkyo had me reset the unit by holding down VCR and pushing the power button. Make sure you record your settings before doing this - as the unit will be fully reset. This solved the video problem for me.

Hand held monitor not working

Sounds like the units need to be paired. Start with all units off. Then turn on one of the parent units. Press and hold the menu button until it beeps. Quickly turn on the nursery unit and press and hold the button on the nursery unit that has the parent unit icon below it. After a couple of seconds the units will pair. Repeat this process with the other parent unit.
