Reboot computer. then before windows Xp boot screen comes press F8. you will see many options. At top there is safe mode.

Turn on the PC - as soon as the BIOS screen dissapears keep tapping
F8 - this will bring up the boot menu and let you select "safe mode".
If you get to the Loading XP screen with the moving bar you pressed F8 too late, reset and try again.
