GE WCVH6800J- read manual. Loaded with towels.Water trickles into clothes, then water empties- no agitation or apinning taking place. POwer/pause light starts blinking- I've tried opening door when unlocked to rearrange clothes- press power button again- dor locks, unlocks, locks again-water once again wets clothes, then leaves without spin cycle. Short load cycle doesn't work at all- to finally get clothes out of machine (and determine if it is capable of spinning) I reset to fast spin cyle, and clothes are try but not too sure how clean. Manually I can get the cycle down to one minute- but all it does regardless of cycle or when I push start is it wets clothes and then drains water. Sometimes it wasll roll back and forth. No balance problems- washer does not walk noisily across floor. Just won't finish a load without manual coaching.

SOURCE: water barely trickles out for rinse cycle

Hello,

It sounds like you have some buildup in the cold water valve screen. Where the hose connects to the washer there should be a screen inside the valve. Remove the cold water hose from the washer and clear any debri on the valve screen.

If this doesn't fix the slow cold water flow then you will have to replace the whole water valve assembly. The water valve is the piece that the hoses connect too and supply water to the washer.

If you have anymore questions about this please ask. I will be more than happy to help you out.

Thanks

SOURCE: GE front load washer, wbvh5200j1ww. no power.

the door can be manually unlocked by removing the bottom front panel, reach up and there is a pull tab on the lock mechanism. it is a crime that they do not post this online or in the manual, and let folks ruin their clothes.

power problem was a part called the "FILTER" it is where there power cord plugs into, something along the lines of part number 201. cost is $85 plus tax. service man has not seen one of these ever go before.

Amana washer. Why is it acting up?

Question edited for clarity, 'Amanda' to 'Amana'.
Question moved to maker category.

It is sensing, and that you have something that needs a 'Delicate' setting, or a 'Woollens' setting. It provides water and very little agitation that might damage or stretch the clothes. Read the manual.

How do I fix a ge top load washer that's making a loud banging noise while agitating?

There is either a balance issue or a damaged spring. Usually all you need to do is open the washer (make sure it is OFF) wait for it to stop spinning... then look for clothes bunching up on one side. Take some out ad move them around.
Sometimes putting in to many or too few items will make it harder to resolve. Items like large towels or several towels, sheets and such will hold more water and be heavy until the water starts to pull out.

One piece agitator wraps cloths

When loading the machine, load towels, sheets or jeans with an accordion fold instead of putting the laundry in a circle around the agitator. It helps to put the clothes in at the twelve o'clock position, then six o'clock, then nine o'clock and then three o'clock. Repeat this sequence until the washer is full.
The laundry can circulate much better and get cleaner too.

My GE washer won't spin or agitate

check the motor capacitor if your motor doesn't turn when powered, otherwise the "wig-wag"coil could be faulty, these coils shift your transmission for different cycles

Kenmore washer 80 series 110 model not spinning.

unless your washer is over 20 years old, then it wont have a belt. the temperature of the water wont have anything to do with it spinning or not.
need to know if it agitates or drains and just wont spin.
if it agitates but no spin or drain, then you have a bad lid switch.
if it wont agitate or spin, but will drain, then you have a broken drive coupling.

Close very wrinkled

I have the same problem with clothes being very wrinkled and clumped together after a full cycle. I believe it is not because of the spin cycle, but because the washer using very little water to wash the clothes, so they bunch up easily and are not free flowing. NOW, I try to use the cycle that uses the "Deep Clean" action or I activate it manually with all other cycles. It adds more water to the cycles and the clothes come out wrinkled, but not as much. Try it.
