Had the same problem with an oven/microwave combo. The microwave worked fine but the oven gave the 'feature not available' message when pushing 'bake'. Tried the power reset several times, didn't help. Had to replace the control panel board. $287.

That happened to my fairly new Whirlpool double oven. But I remembeedr the power in the neighborhood had flickered earlier in the day. So I went to the circuit breaker and shutoff power to the oven for about 30 seconds and turned back on. Everything normal now. I just assumed the slight flicker in the power affected to programming.

SOURCE: oven won't heat after self cleaning

There is a overload thermostat located on the rear of your oven that needs to be replaced.
Self cleaning operations are not recommended by this technician.

SOURCE: Whirlpool double oven has a loud fan when baking

There will be some noise from the fan, but it should not be excessive, if it is really loud, then this is an indication that the fan is failing, and should be replaced ASAP.

SOURCE: Double oven / convection not working

It is likely that the convection element is burned out and needs to be replaced. If all other functions are working then this is the place to start. Teh back panel inside of the oven can be removed by removing the 4 visible philips screws on it. The element should look smooth and round, if not then it needs to be replaced. Be sure to turn power off to the oven before replacing it. Remove the screws that fasten the element to the back wall and gently pull the element away from the wall an inch or so. the wires will be exposed and can be unclipped from the element do not let them fall inside of the back of the oven or you will have to remove the oven from the wall to get at the back panel. Install the new element in the reverse procedure. If the element looks good then it will have to be tested with a multimeter to verify that it is still good before proceeding to check the selector switch for burn marks.

What is the purpose of the WLP83800 "AUTO" Oven Function?

If the button in question is on the top left of the control panel, this is for Automatic Convection Bake. This is the control panel picture, http://www.youserguide.com/wiki/Whirlpool_Use_and_Care_Guide_-_9782476-011 ; the word Convection is below the top pair of buttons with Auto to the left. Set the oven temperature to the regular setting for your food. The oven will reduce the temperature to the appropriate temperature for baking with the convection fan running. You do need to check the food more frequently. See http://www.youserguide.com/wiki/Whirlpool_Use_and_Care_Guide_-_9782476-016 .

I hope this helps.

Model WOC54E whirlpool microwave/oven combo. recent power outage. microwave works fine. oven display says feature not available for baking when bake button pushed

Hello Carla Christian,

The problem with "power outages" isn't the
out part... it is the VOLTAGE VARIANTS...

Will cause a weak spot to fail... Poor sold joint
or
a transformer... but since you have PARTIAL
functionality you need to look to the specific
are of function that is DEFECTIVE...

I tried you part number but my
parts house wants more numbers...

Take a loo at what I found...

This site also has technical support... AND
VIDEO guides...

They can help you get your WHOLE model number.

Whirlpool model YGFE461LBQ1. When I press bake, or convection it says service not available

Hello. There is a thermal fuse located at the rear of the oven, underneath the rear cover. The part number for it is 3196548. If the bake element isn't working, this thermal fuse may have opened. Did you self-clean the oven recently? That is a notorious cause of popped thermal fuses due to lack of adequate ventilation. I hope this helps you!

I have a double whirlpool fan oven. The fan doesn't always work, seems to stick. What do I need to do to get it working? We've had it less than 3 years but I've never cleaned it. Is this why it doesn't...

Do you mean the fan inside the oven box in the back wall. This is the fan for the Convection bake etc. If so this is how it works..

a) Bake feature - that fan does not come on

b) Convection bake - that fan comes on during bake cycle

So that fan works for several features but not for all. It helps to circulate the hot air inside better for a more even, fast bake.

Do you mean the fan in the control board area. It is there to get the hot air trapped in the oven walls out. Not the heat inside the oven bake box area. This fan works differently depending the model and/or brand. Some models fan works from the time you start. Some models fan comes on only when that area reaches a certain high temperature.

Allow at least a minute after power has been restored and if error code reappears, replace control board (clock).

My upper oven/ convection function on my dacor ecs230b will not heat

Bake and convection bake settings both use the bottom bake element to heat. It would be unusual for bake to work without conv. bake working. You also have pure convection which uses a different element surrounding the conv. fan on the back of the unit. If you press a feature and nothing happens it's the touch pad. If it comes on then turns back off it's probably the ERC (clock). If it comes on and wont heat only in pure conv. possibly an upper relay board or element problem.

Dont know how to use

Many ranges now have automatic conversion when you use convection feature instead of standard bake, but as a general rule, if your standard baking time in the recipe is over 30 minutes, you can lower the convection setting by 25 degrees F and reduce the time by 25% to get the same results as standard baking settings. Please don't rate this if you don't feel it is a Fix-Ya for you, as other ratings lower my score. Thanks.
