Try unpairing the phone and the Bluetooth headset. Also ensure that you always have the boom on your headset open while trying to use it. The Boom is the on/off switch.
This could be due to a phone setting. You probably have the phone or the blue tooth in the "mute mode" check you instruction manual or the phone settings to see if you have it voice muted for privacy.
If you've set the audio input and output to the bluetooth and it still doesn;t work then you probably should try a different headset -- non-Motorola. Their radios sometimes are too weak. You can also try sitting closer to the PS3.
Is the headset paired and connected to your phone? Is bluetooth turned on in your phone? Look for the bluetooth icon on top of your phone's screen. Let me know what model phone you have and I can help you troubleshoot.
User "Nitol" seems to be having the same problem with this headset. I'd recommend calling motorola support, see what they think of it. If you're lucky, they'll recognise the apparently common probem and help you out.
