My 546i is telling me to pedal fast after I hit Quick Start or manually start a program. It's obviously not working. I just put a new battery in it too.

I would definitely check the battery first. The battery may not have enough charge to power everything plus the lift motor.

Drill it down on the left side under "narrow your search" and look for the serial number prefix. This will let you find all the correct parts and information specific to your model and serial number.

Start with checking the battery. You are correct in your thinking of the machine recharging the battery, however over time a battery can develop a bad cell. This will prevent the battery from holding a charge. This link is a video that will assist you in checking the batteries voltage.

Either your starter or solenoid is out. You can tell by push starting the vehicle in 2nd gear (you do second gear because there is less strain on it and if for some reason it is damaged, you maintain the use of your vehicle.) if it starts, then drive your vehicle to saturn and have them fix it.....and push for a warranty repair. :D

is it a automatic?if so move the shifter as u start it,,,try to start it in neutral ,if it is manual shift try pushing the clutch pedal down ,and let the clutch pedal fly up hard ,then try starting it ,this will tell u if it is in the neutral saftey switch or the clutch switch

AmyLynn001, 1st thing, let the car sit for a couple hours (because u smell gas, it's definitely flooded). Turn the key to start (do NOT touch the gas pedal!! Cars are designed now to start w/out touching the gas pedal. If u do, u will flood it, and make it even more difficult to start) When u turn the key, only hold it to turn the engine over for no more than 10 seconds. If after the 10 seconds it doesn't start, turn key off, wait about 10 seconds, repeat. (this is to reduce wear and tear on the starter, and to not run the battery down real quick). It sounds like several problems coming together caused this. U state that the car needs a tune up, it's likely the overheating, need of a tune up (car not performing to optimum efficiency) and pushing on the gas pedal, resulting in flooding, all came together to create this no start condition. Eliminate any one (preferably all!) and u should be able to start the car. So, hopefully just letting it sit and not touching the gas pedal while attempting to start will be enough to get u back on the road, then get that tune up soon. Let me know how u make out.
