When i turn on my ds light it flashes white and then it turens black and stopes working plese help.

Sounds like a ribbon cable to the top screen maybe damaged. Upon startup, the ds does a systems check, any kind of failure e.g. a ribbon cable or a faulty screen would cause the console to shut down again. Presuming everything else works charging etc this is most likely to be the problem.

reset your ds by turning off ur ds and holding the R and L key and holding down select and the start button and see if that works

One or both your screens have blown.

Try removing the motherboard from the screens and attach the battery the green light should turn on and stay on.

Now attach the lower screen and turn on. If the screen is ok the screen and green light will flash and then turn off. (if the screen doesn't flash the bottom screen is you're problem and will have to be replaced)

If this happens the problem is then you're top screen which you will have to replace.

Do any screens flash?

I would say its a fuse / grounding out / or battery is destroyed.


If you can, try a different battery.. Has your battery and/or DS had any previous water damage?

Either 2 things. Your Wireless Wifi Board has gone bad or it has fallen off.


Open up your nintendo DS and look for the black wire connected to a small board. You will know because there are only 2 wires running in the DS. A white one (microphone) A black one (wifi)

This WIFI board (if gone bad) causes the DS to cut on, but get no video at all.

hey i know wats wrong ill tell you. when you have your ds for about 1 year a little piece of plastic comes off where the light is it usually makes the ds have times when it just turns itself off then on again, i reckon yours just happened differentley. I suggest you use the warranty before it expires :-)

99% sure you have a broken flatcable that is going to the upper screen.
Only solution is to replace the screen (cable is attached to it and cannot be replaced seperate)

My kids did the same thing. What I did to get it to work was to push back on the top and hold it turn it on. If it comes on then turns off after you let it go get 2 rubber bands and put the 1st. one on the top left down to the bottom right. The 2nd. one goes from the top right right to the bottom left. Then keep turning it on while moving the top to find the sweet spot.

My DS touch screen is very light. If you turn look at a particular angle you can still see what is shown on the screen, but other than that, the screen looks white. I have already changed the touch pad and that was not the problem. Any assistance would be appreciated.
