if your saying theres a motor running but the drum wont turn . then id say either the idler pulley has come off or drive belt has broken , these do go bad especially on heavy load machines
it could be the heating element even though it is just over a year old, i have seen heating elements go out on 3 month old dryers, it also could be a thermostat the best thing to do is make sure it is getting the full 220 volts going to it, if it only has 110 volts the motor will run and have no heat and vise versa, then if that is good get to the heating element and look it over real good most of the time the heating coil will be broke into it wont look burnt just broke
at 8 years old I think you got your money's worth out of it. (no offence) but if this is for a rental property and you are not close to repair any issues that may come up you have to ask yourself is it worth repairing a item that has and avg 10 years or less life span at 1/3 its cost to buy a new one. If you are not happy with the price of the newer units buy one from the loaner section of a home store or a scratch and dent unit then get the extended service contract with the money you save and you wont have to deal with this issue for 5yrs or more and should one come up you can have some one else deal with it.
I had the same problem. It is the door latch. It cost about $150 to fix. I can't believe the tech didn't know it. It is very common for Bosch Dryers after about 3-4 years old.
I also had a similar problem with my maytag dryer which is 3 1/2 years old. It was the idler lever assembly with pulley. The part number is 11222607JG and the cost is about $20.00. Hope this helps.
On the rear of the dryer is a removable panel. Unplug the dryer and get that panel off. The fuse is a small white part mounted with one screw on the blower housing. Has 2 small wires going to it.
good luck with your fix been there done that been back ..it's not just a matter of buttons behind that plastic exterior is a circuit bd full of intergrated circuits , transistors and such.. if a whirpool tech on the other end had tried to diagnois it sight unseen and got it wrong you would have been just as mad and tried to recover the cost of free advise
thanks that was the exact promblem i love you guys already have a great day
