We purchased four new GE Profile appliances in August 2008. I contacted them in October 2009 to advise them that the shelving on the side-by-side of the fridge are to narrow, and the shelving and food falls on top of each other. I contacted Spencer, where I purchase the appliances at Spencer, Mesa, Arizona and was told that my year warranty was over. I do understand it is over one year but I feel it is a defect. They referred me to the purchasing department and I would have to pay $250 to replace the uncorrect shelving they sold me. Can you help please!

So sorry to hear you had the same problem we did with GE Profile refrigerators which we purchased for an apartment complex we own. We thought we were getting a reliable product which was reasonably priced and we hoped it would stand up to heavy usage by our tenants. On the contrary, within 2 years, 4 of the 9 refrigerators had problems that were NOT covered by the warranty. This included the poorly fit shelves you mentioned, as well as cooling issues in the freezer and drawers which jammed. Needless to say, we will not put GE units in any of our other rentals, and certainly wish we could return all of these.

My advice to you is to contact GE You are very late reporting any defects. I wish I could help you and if under other conditions I could help. Sea Breezehttp://www.ge.com/products_services/appl...

Determining the Age of Your GE Appliance

This advice applies to all appliances manufactured by GE. Determining the manufactured date of most appliances is accomplished by looking at the SERIAL NUMBER. On GE appliances this is determined by the following method:

The manufactured date is determined by the 1st two letters of the serial number

Example: FY456789

1st Letter is the MONTH

A – JAN
D – FEB
F – MAR
G – APR
H – MAY
L – JUN
M – JUL
R – AUG
S – SEP
T – OCT
V – NOV
Z - DEC

2nd Letter is the YEAR

A – 1977, 1989, 2001, 2013
D – 1978, 1990, 2002, 2014
F – 1979, 1991, 2003, 2015
G – 1980, 1992, 2004, 2016
H – 1981, 1993, 2005, 2017
L – 1982, 1994, 2006, 2018
M – 1983, 1995, 2007, 2019
R – 1984, 1996, 2008, 2020
S – 1985, 1997, 2009, 2021
T – 1986, 1998, 2010, 2022
V – 1987, 1999, 2011, 2023
Z – 1988, 2000, 2012, 2024

You might want to read up on some of this:
http://www.consumeraffairs.com/retail/sharper_image.html

If you are inquiring about product warranties on former Shaper Image products, purchased prior to October 2009, we unfortunately cannot help you. On February 19, 2008, The Sharper Image Corporated (“TSIC”) operating under previous ownership and management, filed for bankruptcy in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware. Since that filing, a new group of investors acquired certain assets of TSIC including the brand name and the SharperImage.com website. We understand your frustrations and recommend visiting http://www.kccllc.net/sharperimage for more information, or call 1-877-312-7060. For orders placed through ShaperImage.com after October 2009 please refer to the manufacturer instructions on the warranty card provided with your purchased product.
Retail Store Purchases
Unfortunately, if you have questions about a Sharper Image product that was purchased from a retail store, we cannot help you. SharperImage.com can only assist with purchases made through the SharperImage.com website. For questions, or possible returns you have, please go back to the store where you made the purchase. For a list of retail stores carrying Sharper Image products, please click here. You will need to contact the individual retail stores to find out the specific products they carry.
For additional information regarding retail store purchases, please call 1-877-312-7060.
Replacement Parts
If you are inquiring about replacement parts for former Sharper Image products, purchased prior to October 2009, we unfortunately cannot help you. SharperImage.com is a new business venture that started in October 2009 and has no affiliation to The Sharper Image Corporated (“TSIC”) that filed for bankruptcy in 2008. Information regarding the TSIC bankruptcy case can be found at http://www.kccllc.net/sharperimage. If you have a warranty from the former Sharper Image, please find more information here, or call 1-877-312-7060.
SharperImage.com does not provide replacement part service at this time. We are not the product manufacturer and therefore do not have access to replacement parts. However, if your product is not working properly, or arrived defective, you can request a return within 60 days of purchasing by e-mailing our customer service department at [email protected]. After the 60 days expires, you must refer to the manufacturer instructions on the warranty card.

I had Norton Internet Security 2009 installed in my computer in August, 2009, and I am getting pop ups that my subscription is running out in 4 days.

Did you purchase the Norton Internet Security? If yes, then you need to verify with Symantec (Developer of Norton) if their program is a one-time purchase only or needs to get renewed every month or two.

Or there could be a possibility that you just need a new product code. Ask them if they could provide you one for free. Check the link below and you would be redirected to the Norton Web site:

I recently went to another ge site with a question regarding a problem with a GE Microwave oven I purchased in August 2008. They wanted to charge me for service, this item is under warrenty, where do I go...

If you purchased the appliance in August 2008, the appliance is definitely covered under the manufacturer's one year limited warranty that comes with most appliances. You can contact GE directly by calling their Warranty Management department. The information below is from their website, geappliances.com:

For warranty questions, please write or call:
1-800-626-2224 M-F 8 a.m. -8 p.m. EST; Sat. 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. EST

For hearing impaired service call toll-free 1-877-885-2782.

If you wish to send correspondence, use the address below:

General Electric Company
Service Protection Plus™
P.O. Box 100
Rapid City, SD 57709

They should not charge you for a service that is covered under a warranty. Be prepared to provide your COMPLETE model number and serial number. Usually this information is located somewhere around the door opening, or on the back of the appliance. You should also have your receipt or purchase order. But...if you don't have it, the SERIAL number will indicate the MONTH and YEAR the appliance was manufactured. The manufacturer should still honor the warranty based on this information.

If you don't get satisfaction with this, you can try their Answer Center at 1-800-626-2005.

I hope you find this information helpful. If you do not get any where with this, please post back and let me know. Good luck.

You have a GE Profile oven range. I and you just cleaned it and the pilot light on all four burners continues to click on and off.

It sounds like the gas line or the gas valve, have some debris in them!
They need to be evacuated by an experienced tech.
This time you need service.

Bless You ngafm
Please give me a good rating at this sight before you leave!
