I have two Dell 3010cn printers that were given to me. Both have the same problem. The paper does not pick from the built in MPF paper tray. What I don't understand is that it's not even trying to pick. Nothing is moving in the MPF tray and picking mechanism for either printer. Then the printer reports at paper jam error 075-134. I think it has to be something I don't have set right. It doesn't make sense that both printers are failing in the exact same way.
I dont know if it was by chance, but when i didnt push the paper all the way in but left it half an inch from the back it printed. It has worked for 6 prints so far, and I am not touching the paper again!

Log into the printer using the web interface, check that the Tray settings are correct and set to the correct paper size, make sure there are no errors on the LCD screen, if you are attempting to send a print job to the printer but the LCD screen just says Ready then the job is not reaching the printer, to confirm run a test printout from the printer itself if it works ok then its not an issue with the printer but either the machine you want to print from or the cabling/network.
When you go to print are you selecting the MPF as the location to print? I have the 3110cn and you must manual select that you want it to print to the MPF.

The reason Dell said this problem was almost impossible to fix is because it is. There is a lift mechanism inside the housing for the MPF paper tray that lifts the paper to the roller to pull off the top sheet. The lift mechanism in this printer model is flimsy at best. There is a roller cam with a knuckle attached to it to does eventually break, causing a failure of the lift mechanism. The components to repair this problem are unavailable from Dell, and can only be salvaged from another printer. Here's the kicker... You have to disassemble the ENTIRE printer in order to replace this assembly. This took me 2 and a half hours to accomplish, and you're going to have to do it on 2 printers, as well as reassemble the fixed one. DO grease the cam assembly with some white grease to get the longest life possible if you choose this option. Best option? Either purchase another printer off eBay with a different problem and use yours to fix that one, or, as Dell so lovingly suggested, purchase a new one. The cost of today's color laser solutions make purchasing one of these printers a much more viable option than fixing your 3010cn.

I already checked that. The MPF tray is the only choice. And the front panel indicates the MPF tray when it's trying to print. Thanks for trying.
I have no manual with my printer and it has the same problem that it is not picking up from the MPF it says ready to print but doesnt I dont get any error reports it just doesnt print anything

I have the same problem and Dell told me I needed an MPF tray. The catch is they will not sell you just the tray they make you buy two other parts, an MCU board and a VT Assembly. The technician came out to install the new MPF tray and the printer works fine again. The rub is you had to by the other two parts which are package separately and not in any way attached to the MPF tray. The Dell technician told me he replaces the MPF trays all the time and that I didn't need the other parts that they require you to buy as part of a "kit". I think they simply use this as a way to bring in more revenue as they continue to struggle against HP.
When I run out of paper, sometimes after reloading, the printer is set for the wrong paper and won't print. If you go to Menu, then scroll down to Configure, then pick Maintenance, then pick INIT NVRAM, it will work again. This is a fix from Dell's tech that reset my printer today and got it working again. I love this printer, which I have had since 2006. I just wish I had bought it in a multifunction configuration.
