I have an 11 year old TV (Sharp 25L-S100B). The remote I use for it is not the original, but one that works for both my VCR and my TV. All of a sudden the remote stopped working with the TV (but continues to work with the VCR). I suspect that the sensor in the TV is broken. Short of changing the sensor I could get around this problem if I could just get the TV to change to channel 4 using the buttons on the TV itself (they still work). If it is on channel 4 I can get the VCR or my converter box remotes to control the TV. The problem is that the TV ''skips'' channel four when I use the buttons on the TV to change the channel. It goes from channel 3 to channel 8. Any solutions on how to ''add'' back in channel 4 on the TV without a remote? Thanks!
Usually if you go into the setup menu, there is an option to allow you to either "scan" for a channel, or "input" a channel. In this case, select "input" and see if the TV will allow you to press the up and down channel buttons and go to a specific channel. If so, when you get to channel 4, press the "add this channel" option (or whatever the menu option says) and you should then be able to go to channel 4 using the buttons on the front without skipping over it.

Hi,
Thanks for your help. I think that that is exactly what I have to do, but I don't have any buttons on the TV to bring up the set-up menu. All I have is the Power button, volume and channel controls... This is the problem...
