How to fit a belt to a hotpoint aquarius when the back cannot be removed

Hello,unplug appliance, remove lid and back plate, place belt on motor and carefully on drum pulley, turn pulley to pull belt onto its, its quite tight to do but is possible, watch out for trapping your fingers.

Remove top cover of washer.
Remove rear access panel.
Slacken off the motor fixing bolts, and pull motor towards drum top.
Fit belt round motor pulley first, and then feed it round the drum pulley from the rear of the washer.
Tighten motor bolts just enough to hold motor steady, and pull motor towardsa cabinet side to tension belt, it needs to be farly tight.
Then tighten motor bolts securely.
Fit back top and rear covers.

Probably it wasn't fitted properly. make sure the belt is tight when fitted, and at least 2 groves from either side at the motor shaft.

Remove lower rear panel, tilt washer forward, getting someone to help, and fit belt round motor pulley, then fit belt round drum pulley, slowly turning the drum pulley round as you feed the belt on, it is very tight, and you might think the belt is to small, but this is normal, as the belt stretches, just persist, but be careful you do not trap your fingers. It is virtually impossible to fit belt from top on this washer dryer. as there is no room to get your hands in.
The easiest way to do it, is to remove the rear panel, and fit it from the back.
You will find it easy to do it this way.

Hi, To fit the belt to your dryer you will need to remove the top of the appliance by removing the screws at the rear. Pull of the timer/control knob. Look inside the top of the t/dryer behind the control panel you will see little plastic stems which are attached to the facia panel. You need to knock these out to remove the facia. Once this is off then you can remove the the top 3 screws and the bottom 3 screws the front panel will now come off for you to place the belt on the drum and over the motor spindle. Becareful as the t/dryer will be very loose and will twist. it is easier to lay the appilance down on its back to stop everything falling about. Now you can put it back together in the reverse order....

It more than likely is the motor that has shorted. Remove lower rear panel, remove belt. Undo 2 screws that hold motor in place, remove motor plug, lever motor back to remove same,
Remove carbons and check for wear, also look at armature and see if there is any sign of shorting, clean armature with emery paper, fit new carbons, refit motor and belt, test.

If it still does not work, then in all probability it will have blown the main control board.which would require replacing.

You need to remove the top cover, remove the right hand side panel,ease the drum forward and fit the new belt.
It is very difficult to fit the new belt without the proper tool avialable from Hotpoint.
It can be done without the tool, but be prepared to stuggle

Put belt on motor pully first then turn big pully around!Like fitting bike chain.

it takes a fitting stap to fit but can be put back on by hand little tricky but can be done no probs
