Please remove the batteries from the remote and check whether it is possible to use the local keypad on the TV? If the volume increases, it may be a problem in the local keyboard.
You might need to get this checked with the manfucaturer, looks like a malfunctioning remote control. Or you can just replace the remot and see if that helps.
MIGHT WORK IF YOU: Turn off tv with remote, that is standby, then turn off tv with switch or unplug from wall. Wait a few minutes until led lights go off on tv. plug tv back in. try pushing vt on remote and power button on tv at same time. If this doesn't work try contacting a local retailer, they always have a list of codes for their salesmen.
i think that there is a shorted buttons or in normally close position, try to press each buttons slowly and you will feel something that is ticking if one of the buttons does not tick it is damage it is in normally close position that will be the cause of the problem. specially check the volume button.
call LG if you think the TV is not accepting the signal from the remote the TV may have a fault in it. If you have any universal remotes try programing them to control the TV if they work but the other does not it is remote.
Question: Take the batteries out of both the remotes and then try to turn the TV on with it's On/off switch built into the TV. If it turns on and the volume stays the same, then it must be an issue with one of the remotes. If the tv turns on and the volume ramps up to max. Please check if volume knobs/buttons on the tv itself to see if they are sticking. If they aren't, there is something wrong with one of the boards in the tv of course. This sure should be something a Sony Service Shop can fix. I don't think it will be expensive. Maybe a $100 to $200 repair if they do the work. Blessings, A/V Media Guy
My son put a penny in the SD card slot of my Pansonic flat screen tv. I finally got the penny out but now the volume and tv controls do not work. I can change the channels through my cable box but that is it. The volume does not work on my cable remote or the flatscreen. What do you suggest I do to fix this problem?? Thanks, Josh
It sounds like the button is stuck. Take the remote apart if you can and see if the key is stuck somewhere. This happened to me once with a rubber key type of remote. It drove me crazy.
