My TV started about a week ago with a horizontal line about 5" from the top. The line is very thin. A few days later 3-4 horizontal lines appeared at the bottom. These lines are black and very distracting if you focus in on them. I contacted the manufacturer and was told that the screen needs to be replaced. The TV is not even 1 year old. They said that they will replace the screen for free. I would have to pay for the shipping of the TV to the manufacturer which will run about $1,300.00 - $1,500.00 with insurance. Is there any other way to ressolve this issue?
I'am an electrical/electronic engineering student.I come across a problem on a computer monitor which develops horizontal lines across the screen of the monitor.
Sounds like an inverter problem. If the power supply is internal replace the capacitors coming out of the voltage regulators. These are usually 1000mf and/or 470mf. If that doesn't do the trick look up the numbers on the 8-pin chips that drive the secondary transformers on the inverter to see if they are getting the right voltages.
Good Luck!
