You most likely can use a universal remote to control this device, you will just have to search for Pioneer bluray player radio codes that you can configure on the universal remote.

You cannot rig up a blue tooth headphones to this receiver with out a blue tooth transmitter ( the Onkyo does not have one built in ). If you have a transmitter it can be plugged into the headphone out socket of the Onkyo ( in front ), just remember that it will cut out the sound from all your speakers when you insert the headphone jack . The advantage though with this connection is you can control the headphone volume using the Onkyo remote.

I would just like to add that I have a Sony BDP-S500 player and a Sony TV.

The Sony TV's remote was preprogrammed to control the Bluray player, which i discovered by accident, so I didn't have to mess with universal remote control codes or anything.

you could try getting in touch with the manufacturers of the receiver,or if you have a code in its manual for a sony dvd,you could try that as that all blueray is,it might not matter about model of dvd.

Player can be made to work without remote. But it is a pain.
You need to press pause then play in the right combination.and you can get both DVDs and Blu Ray disks to work. I bought a store floor model that did not have a remote. I have a solution which has worked well for me. It uses the DVD button at the top of the remote. It was a trade-off as none of the codes in the RC144 Philips remote will work any Blu-ray players, so the DVD button was unassigned. 1. Set up your TV button to work your TV.
2. Set up your Onkyo code, pick one to turn on the receiver. I used 3719
3. Use the 9-2-2 code to cycle through all available codes. At about a count of 300 I found one which will turn the Onkyo receiver off. Make sure you start this process with the ONKYO receiver already on. Once you find it press the OK button.
4. Use the 9-7-7 code to power all devices TV, AUX and DVD from the power button.
In this way, each time the power button is pressed it will send both the power on and power off signal to the ONKYO receiver.
This technique works well when you point the remote at the ONKYO receiver and press power button. Apparently the TV has better reception for the signal then the ONKYO does.
