I have the all tube Crate TV-120. When I turn it on it fires up fine. When I switch the standby on I get a loud whistle sound and can hear a humming from the speakers. I can also get a low guitar volume when I plug in and play. It seems like this came up after using the effects loop one time. The loop seemed to work fine. When I unplugged the amp started freaking out like this. I may have plugged my DG Stomp into the wrong send/return input, but the loop seemed to perform just fine. Thanks for your help.

This is a guess: I suspect the bypass switch on that effects loop jack is causing a problem. These jacks cause a lot of problems. The switch passes the signal through if there is no plug for an effects in the jack.

You can SOMETIMES tighten up the contact to restore the jack. You have to disassemble teh unit to get at it of course.

TV goes to blank screen standby after one second of normal functioning green power light on. When in standby state, the TV is blank like it's off and the red standby light blinks FOUR times.

These blinks [flashes] are fault indication (Error Codes). From the number of blinks occur at one time switch ON, you can get an idea about the faulty circuit section inside it. This will make repair easy. These are called blinking codes. Make sure about the exact number of blinking of the standby/power LED, by switching On & OFF the set, for at least two times. Count it carefully. If you wish to get some details, check the site linked here. It has details about blinking codes, and fault locating procedure, to many popular brand TVs and other devices. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/

I have a 22" digihome LCD TV with built in DVD. At 3am every morning the DVD activates and buzzes away. The screen doesn't come on but there is a loud click as the speakers activate. How can I stop this...

3am is the freeview box update time it will do this every day at 3am the loud click you hear you should not hear it but it may be the update switch that turns the tv out of standby for the freeview to be updated its a different switch that turn this on and may be sticking.

I have a crate fxt 120. I 'll be playing in the #2 overdrive channel and it will automatically fail and go to a clean sound. Although it is not entirely clean. It sounds like 2 sounds combined. A loud...

A possible problem MIGHT be marginal switch contacts on the external foot controller cable. If you are not using the foot pedal, these contacts must maintain contact to keep the same channel selected.

Samsung DLP HL-P4663W - loud whistling noise while the TV is on

That most probably seems to be a future issue with your color wheel, it's starting to go out, you need to identify which one you have before you purchase one, there are two kinds, one with a gold bearing and another one with a silver bearing

Television won't power up

It sounds like the high voltage circuit got damp and arced. This arc caused the horizontal output transistor to short.
You might try replacing the output transistor if you're experienced in this type of repair. If not then you need to take it to a repair shop.
The "whistle " you're hearing is the power supply indicating that it has a short on its load. When the power supply has an over load (short) its frequency drops down when your ear can hear it oscillating. This type of power supply is a switching power supply normally operating a several thousand hz(cycles) which is out of range of human hearing.

My Sony tv CRT

If it's between 5-10 secs, that's normal. You will turn the tv on and hear a loud (buzz/hum) that is the picture tube firing up, once it's fired up, it has a few more seconds until your picture comes up fully. That is about 5-10 secs from pushing the power button.

If it's taking longer than that, your picture tube may be going out.

I had a 36XBR250 and it took about 10 secs to fire up and show a picture, and it was 5 1/2 years old.

TV screen wont turn on but just a loud noise coming from the tv

I think maybe the G-board needs to be replaced. A TV shop will have to repair it. They normally start around $200.00
