Acer Aspire 5610. Media failure and operating

Acer Aspire 5610. Media failure and operating system not found. It loads to the screen that says Acer (which the screen is shrunk and the right side is black) and you can get to the settings menu. But it says media test failure and then if you hit anything it says operating system not found. I have no clue how to fix it or if it can be fixed.

Built in crystel eye cam just stopped working i took it back to a system restorebecouce it keeped tell me the device was found in my pc

You need to re download the drivers for your crystal eye web cam. Go to this link: http://us.acer.com/ac/en/US/content/drivers

When you get there, select "Notebook"...then select "Aspire". Then scroll down and select Aspire 5610. Then where you see "Operating System", select your operating system (ex: XP, Vista, or Windows 7). It will then show all the drivers for your operating system...scroll down until you see the camera driver software and then download and reinstall it. Hopefully this will help...good luck.

A "media test failure, check cable" means your hard disk failed. The bios can not locate the boot sector of the hard disk to begin loading the operating system.
"Operating system not found" means windows can't load because the Bios can not find the operating system (because the hard disk failed).

This is pretty much an unrecoverable error in terms of fast fixes. You can take the hard disk to a data recovery service if you need to retrieve important data or files.

My acer laptop keeps rebooting giving me a blue error screen. Don't have disk that came with it what can i do?

If you receive the Blue Screen, that means the Laptop is having a trouble with
  • Operating System/ Sub System failure
  • Software Device/Application Failure
  • RAM
  • Hard Drive
You have to include the BSOD message. Please do it next time so that I can give a more appropriate answer.
If the blue screen doesn't remain, here is what you have to do to Disable the Automatic Restarting.
  • When the system boots you have to go to the Operating System Menu.
  • Most PCs and LAPs has the Default key "F8" or "F11". Check the keys and hit until you are directed to an Operating System Choice menu.
  • Select "Disable Automatic Restart on a System Failure" and Hit Enter.
Include the BSOD message in the Next Comment
