Can print any document on macbook but can do test print using HP

well the printer never lies to you on that .
NO connection told is this USB or lame wifi.(no)
no printer made lies , offline means printer is turned offline or it is failing and turn itself offline.

1.Download from here the correct driver

2.Uninstall all about hp printer software that you have

3. Power cycle the Pc

4. Reinstall the new downloaded driver

5. Finally plug in the printer and turn it on

Remove and reinstall the print driver. Make sure you have the latest drivers ... visit www.hp.com/support

Just a suggestion, if you had another printer connected before this one - or the default printer is still set as default - when you click, ' Print' you'll need to select your HP 1315 as the printer you want to use to print your document.

Open printers window, right click on the psc printer icon , select printing preferences, click on paper\quality tab, select the paper size as 5x7, check the option as borderless printing and click on apply and then oK...

There are many things that will effect how your printer handles paper. The most overlooked being the size of the document or image to be printed. If the image or text bleeds over the edges (left, right, top, bottom) of the document, several sheets can be ejected before the "visible" printing takes place. Often those first few pages look blank, but actually are the outer edges of your picture or text. If you are printing a large picture or large text document, this may be your situation. Try printing a document with just a few words on it (like a small email) as a test.

The second most common culprit is dusty, dirty feed rollers in the printer. Consult your HP 1310 series manual for instructions on cleaning the feed rollers, or consult this general cleaning article on HP.com. HP PSC 1310 All-in-One Printer series cleaning

The type of paper can also effect how many sheets are pulled into the rollers. Is the paper new?, Thick?, Very thin?, or is it the same ol' printer paper you've always used? Either way, remove the stack of paper from the feed tray, "fluff" it by fanning it (like flipping through a book very quickly, or the way Superman counts a stack of money!) and replace. Print a test page.

the autoprint which you r telling is called allignment page which your printer is printing everytime.just when the printer prints that autoprint you take that autoprint and place the printed side of the paper on the scanner glass and press the scan button.the printer ON/RESUME light will blink for 1minute then automatically stop and then u will not get this autoprint till u replace any of the cartyridge from the printer.

By following the directions on HP Diagnostic Utility, I was able to solve the problem.
