This may due to laptop is in sleep mode or check whether the proper display driver was installed.

I have the same problem with my 37" HP which is the same as Sharp Aquos, it's bad backlight inverter boards, the screen comes on for a second then nothing, no menu, no channel change indicator then turn it off and you hear the clicking of the power supply about 10 seconds after.

This is the normal cycle time and it can increase if the batteries are a bit weak. This is one of the minor issues with this camera. You should only notice this when using a flash since it has to re-charge the flash circuit, without flash the picture should retuen in a second or less.

I think Your computer C.P.U. power supply unit is not working properly. because these type of problem occur when Power Supply Unit is not working properly.........

So Don't afraid at all just change your c.p.u. power supply unit with new one (it is not costly at all).

I had the same thing happen, replaced the backlight inverter and it works fine. I got mine from http://www.lcdparts.net/LCDTVInverterdetail.aspx?InverterOriginal=V144-001MSS.

In my case, the backlight flashed on for less than a second, then went out. Turns out the backlight inverter was bad. I replaced it (got mine at http://www.lcdparts.net/LCDTVInverterdetail.aspx?InverterOriginal=V144-001MSS) and everything works fine.
