DISH DVR doesn't respond to remote

Since last night when I turned on my television, the Dish DVR remote will not do anything as far as the DVR goes. Can't get to the channels listing, DVR recorded items or anything else. The remote is able to control my TV which makes me think somethings wrong with a DVR or remote setting. This remote is used with a UHF TV, and there is not an actual DVR unit in the room.

We have 2 DVR units in the home, and four total TV's using Dish remotes. All of the other TV's are working fine.

Any advice is greatly appreciated!

Worked with the DISH Tech support via their live chat on website last night. After making some System Info changes and repositioning the antenna on back of the DVR unit, everything's working again!

  1. If this is a TV2 location take the remote to the location of the DVR.
  2. Open the door on the right side of your receiver.
  3. Press SYS INFO.
  4. Press Record multiple times on your remote.
  5. Exit the screen and see if the remote works, if not replace the batteries and repeat steps 1-4
  6. If the remote still doesnt work, and this is a tv2 location (no receiver in the room with the tv) check the antenna on the back of your receiver, make sure that it is connected tightly and standing straight up.
  7. If none of this works call Dish and ask for a new remote.

Hello! Daniel Busa with Dish Network. That would be a case of remote interference. You'll need a model 6.3 or 6.4 remote. You can set it to a uhf frequency instead of an ir that will correct the issue.
