When utility power goes out, the transfer switch does not kick in to generator power. Switching manually works fine. Return to utility works fine automatically. I have a 16kw guardian generac 100 amp 120/240
Is the transfer switch part of the generator or a separate product?
Do the electronics on the generator properly sense the loss of power from the incoming power line?
I strongly suggest that you have the generator serviced. Under no circumstances do you want to place a back channel feed onto the power lines. It could end up killing a power company worker who believes he/she is working on a dead circuit.
