Hi can anyone show me how to get thing apart starting from the top! Or is there a workshop manual anywhere for free? Yes i know i can get one if i pay! I have found a sscservervise prog for free and it looks good but i cant get the thing apart?
You do not need to dismantle the printer for resetting or ink pad replacement.
Please go to my website http://www.the-inkstore.co.uk . I have the latest version of SSC Service Utility to download directly onto your computer and instructions on how to use it, what to click on etc etc. Click any of the Epson links if you can't find it, everything you need to know will be there, including printer Firmware resetting which sorts out a multitude of problems.
The 'maintenance required' problem with Epson printers has absolutely nothing to do with which cartridges you are using, it is a built in page counter in your printer firmware, which has a different maximum amount for each Epson model. Don't listen to old wives tales and heresay, we are the experts and it's an Epson scam to cause a lot of people to pay for maintenance or throw their printers away.
I haven't found a model that can't be reset with the latest version of SSC Serve or the manual reset on my site.
For Epson RX500 users there is also a manual reset on my site, as the SSC Serve software won't do it for you.
When using the program & choosing your printer from the list, it may have a weird name with 'x' in the model number, this is because some configurations are for many models in a series. For example, the C46 will be listed as C4x as it is for the C42, C44 & C46 models.
I hope this helps all Epson users to overcome the Epson scam of page counting and locking out until you pay their dealers money for maintenance.
If you like what I've done for Epson users, please show your appreciation by spreading the word and perhaps buying your ink from my site.
Happy trouble free printing

Cx3600 One of the colours will not print out, how do I open up the machine to check if a part is disconnected.

I had a bad paper jam, managed to get most bits out but had problems ever since. I want to wash the waste ink pads and the sponge on the print head runners. I need to take the top off in order to check if the paper feed bit is ok, and if there are any bits i have not got out. Thanks for the help
Why do you want to take it apart?
What problems have you encountered with the machine? I ask because if you have problems like a scanner error or a message that says something like "parts inside your machine have reached the end of their life..." then taking the machine apart will not fix the problem and is more likely to create more issues than it fixes. If you can advise the problem you have, we may be able to offer a solution without ripping the machine apart.
If you have the "parts inside..." error you will need a piece of Epson service software to cure the issue. Scanner errors for example can rarely be cured by doing anything other than replacing parts.
If you have lost print quality many people want to pull the head out to clean it. Often cleaning and unblocking nozzles can be done much more safely without removing the head or even taking off a cover.
If you let us know more about your problem will endeavor to fixya in the easiest way.
It's best not to rate a thread until you have exhausted all options.
You can find a Epson CX3200 service manual herehttp://www.tradebit.com/filedetail.php/8... if you are sure you need it.
I do not recommend using the SSC utility as it has been reported to write incorrect info to the main board on some machines and render then useless. The official Epson service utility reports the counter value as a percentage. so if it's anything near 100% you simply click the reset option.
It is quite possible that your paper jam has dislodges the sensor flag for the paper present sensor. This would result in a false paper jam error that does not clear. If the error is intermittent it is more likely a scrap has been left near the flag.
As for the odd blank pages among a run of 100 - I would call that good to normal for any CX !! Paper mis-feed during printing should not happen, but once the newness starts to wear off, paper can present itself through the ASF in strange ways and the printer will often cope simply by feeding the sheet straight through.
Hope this sheds a little more light for you.

Not sure how to rate this answer!!!!!!! Because i need to get the thing apart in order to fix the problems with it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have the sscservise program and it says current value for the waste ink is at 2385, what does the counter go up to before it says the printer needs a service? And is there anywhere i can get hold of a free workshop manual for it. I think after the paper jam it might have dislodged the arm for the paper feed. When i did a run of 100 it worked ok but had about 7 blank pages mixed in with the printed ones?
Looking for circuit diagram - i dont want to throw it away
