there is a short in the amp that needs to be repaired before the unit will operate correctly.

press the display button on the remote control, go to custom settings. then select video settings. in that menu select the system setting, change it to PAL.

This is an error massage and comes when home theater got some internal problem specially in amplifier output section that can have defective output IC etc.
It is not user level repair and requires qualified tech for fix.

Not sure how much that helps but thats the best I can find - that should at least get you to the correct area where you should be able to fiddle around with region codes etc

I don't think this has an Optical but a Coaxial connection. You might try a coaxial audio cable not optical.

I think you must change the settings and try it out! it will make a great change.

DAV-DZ3k is a good sony product especially ...famous for book shelf speakers,the problem is basically due to the cables used to connect video terminals or the TVcircuits is not proper with the av receiver.. Thank you Regards Sambhu Dayal
