Is there power at the outlet? You say you checked the fuse ... is that the one inside the machine? Is the outlet protected by a GFI (reset for a GFI is on the GFI)? A GFI looks like a ordinary outlet but is very sensitive to electrical irregularities. Your circuit breaker may be on or your power panel fuse may be fine and the fuse inside your oven may be fine. If the GFI is popped, you have no power.

Try some other electrical device in the outlet. Does it work? Try an extension cord from a known hot outlet?

Beyond these tips, you may need professional help with this.

SOURCE: Whirlpool MH3184XP - No Power

A microwave can be dead for many reasons.

If it goes dead for a while during or after cooking then comes back on, the magnetron is probably overheating and causing the magnetron thermostat to open. Then when it cools, it closes the circuit and allows power through again.

If it's intermittent or random, it may be a bad connection, usually on the control board or a loose fuse holder, or even an intermittent fuse.

You should do a continuity test the fuse while it's in the holder (with the microwave unplugged, of course) then turn the fuse by hand or take it out and put it back in, then test it again. If you remove the fuse, then press the meter leads against the ends, it can allow internal contact to be made and make a bad fuse appear to be good.

If it went dead almost immediately after pressing the Start pad, that's usually a shorted high-voltage capacitor.

If it went dead a few seconds after pressing the Start pad, that's usually a failing high-voltage transformer.

If it goes dead or blows the breaker when you plug it in or open or close the door, then there's a problem with a door switch or door switch mount.

If the fuse is good, it may be an open thermostat or thermal cutout on or near the magnetron or on top of the cavity / body of the oven.

If you or someone you know decide to look into it, we have critical safety information and disassembly information at our site, and our link is at our listing here on FixYa: http://tinyurl.com/yzjozk

You can usually find helpful exploded view diagrams and order parts by entering your full model number here: http://tinyurl.com/gv383

There should also be a "mini-manual" hidden inside the unit behind the control panel, which is very helpful when troubleshooting.

Repairman just diagnosed mine as a bad display board, it quit working while nobody was even home, and cost $269 with a $70 service fee. The microwave is less than 2 years old and only cost @$400 new. I was lied to by the salesman when I made the purchase (imagine that, a salesman lied to a customer) he told me these were very good and reliable microwaves and that I should get years of service out of it, what a crock... I will never buy another Samsung appliance again, they have many many bad reviews and are made with inferior parts. I will stick with Kenmore kitchen products from now on!!!

Microwave is NOT coming on. I have checked the circuit breaker which is fine. I also disconnected power and conected back

Hi,

The most likely cause is an internal fuse which has blown. This can be replaced with a fuse of the same volt/ampere rating. Note that a blown internal fuse is most likely due to a fault on the oven's power circuit and further inspection may be neccessary.

Please feel free to contact me for any further assistance.

Microwave blows fuse in microwave mode grill function ok

It is most likely the capacitor has shorted or the rectifier has shorted. Check with ohmeter, but make sure it is discharged first by shorting the capacitor with a wire.

Whirlpool GH7145XF

Check your main breaker fuse in your panel/subpanel.

Otherwise if the inline fuse is good and the main power is good, then look at the power supply for the microwave.

Microwave stopped working completely

Fan turned on after cooking because a thermostat got to hot and tripped turning on the fan to try to cool the unit.  The unit went completely dead when thermal fuse tripped which is located above the cavity on the left side.
