I have no sound when phone is ringing, cannot play music via the phone
(using headphones is ok) and have no sound when playing videos or
games. However I can clearly hear anyone speaking to me on phone once
I've answered. I thought all sounds came through same speaker. Maybe
I'm wrong? And how do I go about fixing the problem? Step by step
instructions would be gratefully received. Thanks in advance, Dave.
Thanks for the help sudhir, unfortunately it isn't that simple. The speaker has blown i think. In the W800i range there are 2 speakers, one on top of the other. The one on top is working, the other is not. I was afer instructions on how to change the speaker or both if necessary. The iPhone, along with many other phones, has two speakers. The first is the on ear speaker and the second is the speaker at the bottom for playing music and ringtones. The speaker at the bottom could be broken so to check this, just try and use your headphones to play music. If that doesn't work either then it must be a setting on the phone so in that case just have a bit of a play with the sound settings.
The loudspeaker is what the ringer uses as does the music, the inner speaker is used for hearing calls. Sounds like your inner speaker is faulty, check with where you bought it and it may be free to repair if its still under warranty (usually 12 months from date of purchase)
Hello,the problem you are could be caused by so many thing,but i will love to know if the phone does ring out if you are called,and also when yo receive calls do you hear them,if the phone does not ring,i advice you buy a new ringer because the one you have in there is definitely damaged,and if you don't hear people when they call,that means you also have problem with your ear piece which you can replace by getting a new one at a mobile phone store. The phone could also face a jammed application problem or a virus attack,which means if it is flashsed you might have it working as supposed.
You can't hear anything because the phone is most likely set on "airplane" or "headset" mode. You can go through your manual to reset it. Worse case contact your carrier and ask them for the website link for a manual viewable in PDF format.
Yea it sounds like the headphone have a sync problem. what you can do i go the Apple store and they should help you out they will swap your headphones and then it should work.

no always the the voice speaker is located to the front of the phone but the song/ringer speaker is located to the back of the phone so you will have to take the phone to a mobile service center and have them replaced the speaker.
