The noisy spinning on this model washer is usually the drain pump bearing going bad which could also be a possible cause of the leak. Unplug the washer, Tilt your washer back and rest it against the wall. Remove the belt and manually turn the drain pump pulley, if it is hard to turn either way or is grinding or noisy it will need to be replaced. The leak is a little harder to find. Remove the front bottom and top panels, run the washer, stay back with a flashlight and look where the leak is. If the drain pump is bad it is likely leaking. Next check the center, bottom of the tub for leaks, if the leak is her it is likely the cause of both problems. The tub seal is leaking and has ruined the tub bearing. The tub seals and bearing would need to be replaced. Very involved job, and I would suggest you call a servicer with the expensive tools and knowledge to do the job. There is also a bearing on the bottom of the transmission which could be noisy but would not cause a leak. Hope it is only your drain pump.

Water has been leaking out of the bottom of my washer, and it has been making a horrible grinding sound. It finally stopped spinning last night, though it makes noises and tries to run.

Hi just read your posting. Now when is the machine noisy? Is it when the machine pumps out the water or when the bowl spins.Sorry to ask you this but please be accurate when you reply to this question. The reason being is that if it is noisy when it pumps the water it could be your pump but if it is noisy when the bowl turns for the spin then the problem will be your bearings and seals.Select a spin cycle and push start,is it noisy as soon as you push the start button? Please reply with additional information on the questions and I am sure I can help you.Looking forward to your reply.

Machine making loud noise on spins cycle

Well, the only time the washer (speedqueen) is noisy on spin is if one or both the bearings are faulty. Normally when you get a leak, it means the hub/flange and seal kit need replacement and this also includes the top bearing because when soap suds leak past the seal assembly it drips directly onto the bearing. The acidic properties in the soap suds eats the grease in the bearing which ends up becoming defective. One can also get an anoying squeek if a bottom base gasket is worn or removed. This would be audible even on wash cycle. Conclusion, check the bearing on top of gearbox.

When on spin cycle makes noise & water comes out under machine. How do you take off back of machine to get to the pump area ?

Possible drum bearing problem , seals leak into bearing chamber and beyond , bearings seize and become noisy. Pumps get noisy but rarely leak.

Leak with heavy load

Is the machne noisy? If not, it may soon become noisy. Sounds as if the grease seal protecting the basket spindle bearings is leaking. soon the bearings will fail

Water on floor; small amount to begin with..15 loads ago?, now lots of water (1+ gallon) and black grease on floor. slow spin, noisy and hard to get spinning.

if this machine is an older model, it may not be worth the effort to get it repaired. This sounds like the transmission and spin tube are on the way out, and there is some seeping around those seals. The transmission is probably leaking and will soon fail.
