Hi
Thanks for using FixYa. From what
you have described it seems that you
might have a backlight issue with this TV set. It could also be due to the
inverter circuits for the backlights. The inverter is the power
supply source for the backlights. There could also be a screen driver
problem; if it is then you have to change the entire board. All this is only
recommended if you have some kind of expertise for checking the internal
circuitry of the TV as these units have high voltages running even when the set
is switched off.
Please do accept the solution
if the issue is resolved or else revert for further assistance.
Thanks

Norm,
Thanks for your reply. If I were you and I didn't have any experience in repairing these kinda sets ;-( then the first thing I would do is call a repairman in my area and take a estimate over the phone by letting him know what the issue is. I believe the cost to get this fixed might be around $200 depending on the parts that need to be replaced or may be more depending on your area.
Please do accept the solution if the issue is resolved or else revert for further assistance.
Thanks

Thank you, Mr Smith !
Could any of these problems be fixed by a repairman AT MY HOUSE ?
I would rather NOT move or ship this 90# set.
Have you had any similar complaints about this 52" (or any) Westinghouse flat panel sets ?
IF SO....I will NOT buy again or recommend Westinghouse to my friends.
Will these parts be EXPENSIVE or should I junk the set and start with a new set ?
Thanks for your FAST response.
Norm
How would you begin to have this fixed if you were me ?
How would you go about resolving this issue.
Can it be fixed in house by a repair man ?
