If the number was 45.2048, you would round that to 45.20 to the nearest hundredth.

Hi,

You need more decimals to be able to round it to the nearest hundredth, because the 6 is in the hundredths column.

If the number to the right of the 6 was 5 or more, you would add 1 to the 6 to get 7 and the answer would be 0.57,

If the number to the right of the 6 was 4 or less, you wouldn't add the 1 and your answer would be 0.56.

I don't know if my spacing on identifying the columns will be retained, so the tenths column is the first one to the right of the decimal. There is an 8 in the tenths column. The next column to the right is the hundredths column. There is an 8 in the hundredths column. In the column to the right of this, we have a 2, so we don't have to add one to the hundredths column. I get 0.88.
