Aspect Ratio problems with Insignia 26

I hooked my Insignia 26" 720p to cable box with HDMI cable.I can not get the Aspect Ratio to correctly work. On an HD channel it all either looks like Cinema or the picture is too big for the screen. This is with Auto zoom on or off.

Insignia Ns-15MS0832 How do I in large the TV picture when using HDMI

Hi, On your remote select menu in the list should be something called (aspect ratio) 4:3 , Zoom, Full , 16:9 etc.. These settings should make the screen larger or smaller. Also in the list should be something called HDMI for source connections (DVD, Cable box, Dish) etc. You should be using HDMI cables for these for better quality signal. Good luck.

I got a 50" Insignia TV hooked up with HDMI cable and use Direct TV service. My problem is that the channels icon which is located in any of the 4 corners of the tv are cut off, also when there are...

what are you using on the HDMI cable. you may need to change the setting on that and not the tv. or you have the tv stuck in Zoom. if it is stuck in Zoom you will need to rest the tv back to factory setting.

Flat Screen Insignia TV picture too big? How to adjust picture size?

When the picture is too large there are three possible solutions at least.

Starting with the simplest two: There are buttons on the remote controls (cable/satellite and television) that control the picture size. On the cable remote it is usually on the bottom, and it says hd zoom. Press it and it will size the picture down for you. On the television or satellite remote it might say view mode, picture mode, format or aspect.

Now, the more difficult solution if the above doesn't work: The settings might not be right in the cable box/set top box. If the television is a 720p television, make sure the cable box/set top box is set for 720p and not 1080i even though they're the same (yes, yes I know). Also make sure you are not connecting a cable/set top box to the coaxial rf input when you have the capability to connect to a component or hdmi cable. I hope this helps.

Insignia 32" NS 32 q09

Since you don't mention how you're receiving the signal, I'm assuming you use a cable box or computer. Adjust the output settings (e.g. 720p, 1080p) on the box and then adjust your TV settings. If it's a computer, you'll need to adjust the video card settings to a compatible aspect ratio (e.g. 1366x768) for the desktop to display properly on the TV. Details can be found in the owner's manual.

Picture not to edge of screen

That is because you are watching the picture in the 4:3 aspect ratio. This is normal when you are watching a channel that is being broadcast in 480 or digital. But once you tune to a station that has 1080 or at least 720p which is true high def then the picture should expand to 16:9 aspect ratio. It will switch between the two automatically as it determines what type of signal it sees. You can force the resolution to change by pushing the format or aspect ratio button on the remote but you will lose picture quality.

How to hook up to cable box

There are several ways...
The best video connection is HDMI out to the TV HDMI in.
The next best is the RGD, Red, Green, Blue component connections

Make sure you check the cable box out put to make sure it is outputting the highest resolution that you're TV can handle (720P, 1080i , or best 1080P)

There may be some other things to do, but without more details of your question, this would seem to be the most basic answer.

Black and white format on 26" insignia hdtv (720p)

Go to Best Buy and see if they have your same Model on display and change the aspect ratio and see how it is. If it's normal there then to me it sounds like a software up-grade might be in order. It might just have a software glitch.
