Epson 3810 My printer says there is a paper jam. There is no paper loaded and it won't allow me to print.....any ideas? Donna

Epson stylus paper feeder keeps jamming

The lights continually flashing indicate a paper jam or the printer being out of ink. Check/clear any paper jam and verify the ink cartidge is set correctly.

first, make sure you the paper correctly to avoid paper jam.
Single Sheets 1. Open the paper support and raise the extension. 2. Place your paper short edge first against the right edge of the feeder, under the tab, with the printable (whiter or glossier) side up. If you are loading multiple sheets, fan the stack of paper before loading it to prevent paper jams. Note: Don’t load paper above the arrow mark inside the left edge guide. Some special papers can be loaded only one sheet at a time. Slide the left edge guide against the paper. Make sure it is snug, but not so tight that the paper is bent. (For letter- or A4-size paper, you may not need to move the edge guide over.) 4. Open the output tray and pull out the extension. You should also follow these guidelines: • Always load the short edge first, even when you’re printing landscape-oriented pictures. • When using special papers, check the paper package for additional instructions. Some papers require using a support sheet included in the package. Note: Always keep unused paper in the original package and store it flat to prevent curling.
if you loaded the paper, it jammed again, remove the paper and tried to print, still the same, its a hardware issue, alraedy, the printers roller is broken

reinstall printer driver

Paper feeder problem. Distortion of pick up rubber in paper feeder or loose of thickness. Take to Epson service center for replacing it. Or if you have experience in disasembling and asembling printer, you can repair by add thcikness pickup rubber and rearrrange position of the rubber. Also check lubrication of paper feeder mechanic.

May be the problem is at paper sensor, that dirty. The sensor is at bottom of head casing. When paper feeding, the sensor not get the light back, so the printer "think" that no paper. Try to clean paper sensor.
